my new personal top speed
Here's a video I made today of me going 173mph, my new personal top speed. Got a speedohealer with the top speed recall button.

Camera might be hurting aeros. Not bad for your first attempt or if you're 350 lbs but keep at it and be safe. 180+ all day with some practice. Come out to an LSR venue if you want to let it hang out without worring about cars/cops.

I use a bullet cam, about the size of a roll of quarters. I'm at 225 lbs. My battle is not aeros or power to weight ratio, but "cahones"! I'm gettin there though!

Ssweet.........that's about how fast i've had mine a few times -- these things just hit 150+ speeds soo quickly that before you know it, you're shifting into 5th and wringin' it a sec or 2 and bam! 170!

Nice video.
If you're using a 16 tooth sprocket and the standard 41 tooth chainwheel (you didn't say) I compute around 9750rpm in 6th gear at 173mph.
There's more to come, around 192mph at the engine red-line with that gearing.

I had the 16/41 on mine for a short time, but can't remember exactly what rpm/mph/gearing showed........I'm sure you're about right on the mark there Bob........I'm on a 17/43 now.........mileage is a bit better for dayriding, and the 43 helps a little with low rev grunting

Thanks, I think it's fairly accurate, I worked it out using the spread sheet I made for my top speed runs in 2007.

Yeah, I have 16/41 gears. I was in 6th for a little bit before I let out. Didn't pay much attention to the tach. If you listen to my shifts, you can hear it. I was in 3rd when I passed the car.
