Here's my rule of thumb that started winning me races. don't look untill 1100 ft and by the time you process what to do it will be around the 1200ft or 1250 ft mark and then if you lift the won't get by you very easy. You can run bikes in our superpro class as well and we have a couple of guys that come for the 5000 and 10000 dollar days and I've seen them win on more then one day.

I USUALLY got my mirrors on bently and know whats happening behind me . but i usually change my dail-in too to match the other racer with-in a few tenths . and i'm usually leaving last too . but in this case i got lazy after being pulled as a bye and then having to run someone .
the mirrors are off because they break that little mirror stay on the dash when you wheelie .. well at least when i wheelie ..i done broke it twice

I never change my dial in to match someone else, that's a 9 out of 10 times way to lose against a good racer.

so when you run a 13.50 harley you keep a 9.50 dail -in .. i don't i'll change to a 13.30 and leave right behind him ..
i don't like the shooting by another bike at 40 mph faster than them at the 1300 ft mark .. ps theres no 9 out of 10 good racers .i'll catch hell for that comment

No if I run a 15 sec suzuki bergmen I keep the same dail in I was using unless the air is that much better to take me say from a 9.35 to a 9.33. I won't match anyone's dail unless we run the same and that's how it worked out.

i didn't match it . i let him leave 1st . and in reality if we leave together then or i leave 1st he's screwed. i got him on R/T. i just keep a wheel on him all the way to the promise land . WORKS WELL FOR ME .. MOST time they red lite anyways

Would not work out for you around here very well, usally takes .040 or better light to win a rd once the ducks are out first rd, and the good racers are left. but hey if it's working for you good thing!
