In fact, I will go 5.80's on Racheal's streetbike...with me at 220+ lbs. suited..anyone want to bet?

5.80 not 5.89

You want to bet me I don't go 5.85 or better? 65" or less?

most streetbike are stock wheel base right.. or 6 to 9 extensions .. but i don't see many long bikes on the street maybe at a meet and greet with-in 20 miles of the house .. but if its your daily driver .. sure 5.80 get after it .. .

no wee it has nothing to do with you . but how index races are pick.

a few guys that are on forums will pick the time . and then you get a low turn out ..and before long your down to just those few guys running that class.. and then the class dies

i think 8.90's and 9.50's are two classes that got to fast for MOST RIDERS TO ENTER.

there be a 100 bikes show up and even with free entry into a race and wont enter. cause they rode there bikes to the track and can only run 10.s to 11;s .. you know real street bike

Depends on what your considering a street bike. my buddies 08 busa has after market wheels and light weight battery and he's 170lbs and running mirrors and everything else bike came with and runs 5.70's on 87 pump gas sitting at 63 3/4 inch wheelbase and he rides it alot on sunday rides of 150 miles or so round trip and to be honest he does not 60ft very well. his best this year is 1.48

I'll agree that a 5.80 index is going to limit the field a lot. A 6.00 would be much better.

Unless you are a real enthusiast who has a good setup, and/or have some good skills, you are not likely to run in the 5.80's.

right .i hate see these low turn-outs. when theres 100 bikes park or test and tuning . but never enter even when its free because the index is to fast ..and then they won't enter STREET ET because the same sharks are in that too ..

Ya, I said he does not even 60 ft good. really it don't take much to run 5.80's anymore. 14, busa, zx 10, gsxr1000 can all do with little mods. but you must be talking about bone stock bikes in that case no not many 5.80's I mean list the mods you think a street bike should have then we will all understand what your talkling about. we run a 8.90 index in the 1/4 and at the last race it had well over 20 entries.

But on a side not the 9.50 class had 30 entries. and 10.50 is growing each race. you have to be in the right area to draw alot of 5.80 street bikes. it would never go over at my local track hell we can't even get 9.50 bikes.

streetbike . like what you can ride to the track and daily ride without making mods to go to the track . which is what most of the bikes are that show-up at our track . our entries have become the same group of peoples . around 30 in STREET ET .. 10 entries IN 9.50 . 8.80 2 bikes . then the heads up class 1 bike . but theres another 50 to 100 bikes running TNT .

The point is/was,one of the members here said its easy to run 5.80s on a streetbike and that aint true. If it was so easy where were they? And by the way,we are talking about 100 degree weather and a less than mediocre track

I read the link and am confused. Are you upset about this because you think it hurts the sport or are you upset because you can't run 5.8's on your streetbike and some other can? Just trying to understand your point.

Since we live at the foot of Deals Gap our streetbikes run stock arms. I couldn't help but notice at Maxton a few months ago that both the boys 14's were the only bikes that I saw on the starting line that didn't have chicken strips and they both broke 200.....
They usually run low 5.90's, neither have been in the eighties but it's been hot.

They both foot shift and run pump gas on motor.
5.80's is pretty fast on stock arms but I'm sure what you're referring to on that tracks streetbikes they can be extended.

i'm not upset .. what i'm saying is 7 entries into 5.80 index out of maybe 150 bikes showing up at the event. which over the internet everybody and their momma said they would and could run 5.80's .
every event i go to the fast classes are dead . heads-up racing is dead . but street et has the entries . hell even the grudge money races are dieing around here .

but i'd bet if it was a 6.0 index there been a few more entries .. oh and i'll get to 5.80's but i won'
t be much of a streetbike.

remember the whole thread is about any streetbike can run 5.80's
