ZX1400

I busted the oil pan plug on bike. Replaced pan with modified oil pan, which positioned drain plug to front of pan. Now the bike is blowing out thick white smoke and oil through headers/exhaust.

1) I drained the original oil and filled only 2.5 qts to prevent over fill, but white smoke continues to blow out with wet oil. Can not figure out the problem

Please help I'm stuck?

Where did the oil pan come from? Is the pan shortened? Oil pickup shortened? The drain tube shortened?

Did you remove the rubber tube? If not I would start there.

If the rubber drain tube is not shortened or taken off, won't the oil back up in the motor? Then causing the bike to burn it?

Yup I'm guessing he left the hose alone. and now his frame/airbox is full of oil and running down the throttle bodies when it's on the kickstand.

Where is the rubber drain tube located? Does the pan need to come off again? Will this correct the problem or is there a way to clean out the oil?

you never said if your pan was cut down or just had the drain plug moved. That's what needs to be known first.
If you pan has been lowered, Take the oil pan off and it's the rubber hose hanging down. That should solve the problem.
FYI, I wouldn't run the bike with just 2.5qts of oil. I'm not sure if that's enough for the pickup to reach any oil.
Even with a lowered pan like osr's, you still use 4qts

You need to take the fuel tank off to get into the air box. Take the covers off the air box and see how much oil you have in there.

Once the tube is cut, do you just burn the oil out by running it? Or is there a way to clean out the air box?

Shouldn't he shorten his oil pickup tube as well? I'd think it'll be bottomed out against the bottom of his pan and starve his motor of oil at higher rpms? And how much should he shorten it?

good idea to remove the plugs and suck out any oil on top of the piston after sitting or hello to hydrolock
