rear sag

Ever since I've been thinking about adjusting the suspension to my weight, I've noticed how my 14 drops down in the rear when I get on. I'm pretty sure all I need to do is add more spring pressure. Do I need the special tool to adjust this or can I do it with common hand tools?

you can tighten the sag with preload. Some use a spanner, others a punch and hammer.

If you weigh more than 140 lbs, you should consider at least a stiffer spring if you want to see a real change. Revalve would be even better.

just for interest, check out the suggested spring rates on racetech suspension spring guide for our bike.

The soft stock spring will still blow though the travel, and wallow, as its under rated, and with preload you only change the initial stiffness, not the final or mid stroke weight it can handle.

Ok, thanks for the link. I'll try to get a spring and install it this winter. For now, I'll adjust it.
