well i did it

got my zx14 and gtr1400 mixed motor together .. pistons and head from gtr the rest is zx14 stuff .. waiting on an answer on cams , the connie's cams are less duration and less lift . i'm wanting to know if thats a plus to a turbo motor.

Back in the day when I had my Bandit 1200 (1997) which has the old GSXR based oilcooled motor. I ran a Mr. Turbo kit. The Bandit motor was de-tuned and had milder cams in it and lower comperession. It was set up for more mid range power. What I found worked best after several different combos was to install a 1990 GSXR1100 intake cam which had more lift, and leave the stock Bandit exhaust cam. The stock Bandit motor would make about 225 Rear wheel H.P. with the stock cams. With the GSXR1100 intake cam it made 238 RWHP at the same boost levels and carried the power longer in the RPM range. You may be able to do the same thing with the 14. The ZRX1100 turbo worked better with a ZX11 intake cam on it also.

How about some pics and a little more detail.

Way to go 1bad. I have been wondering about conny stuff in a zx14 ever since you brought it up a while back. I was just interested in throwing conny pistons in my motor.

if i didn't have a hays clutch i would have used the connie clutch basket along with the pistons .. i'm going to keep the connie transmission for maybe a later date to use ..i can see the benefits from the lower 1st 3 gears by being able to use taller gearing

I assume the connie has lower compression, but why not use turbo pistons? Price?
What's the deal on the head?

install my zx14 motor with the gtr14 tranmission .. this gonna be interesting since i can launch in 2nd gear .. 1st and 2nd gear are so close that at 4000 rpm when i shift from 1st to 2nd it only changes 200rpm ..
