well i weighed them on 4 different scales and each one was different but the difference between the two tires was always 1.5#. the two tires i weighed were both 180-55-17s, one was a 003 hook up, the other was a 008 slick lets see how they compare and last on the streets and track now ill keep us updated on the 2 tires

Doesn't matter what it weighs ... It will hook when the others don't ....

It probably matters to someone...a Power One hooks at my track and weighs around 12 lb.. It is good to know what these tires weigh, in general.

That being said, if my track had questionable prep I would get the stickiest tire I could find, regardless of a couple of pounds.

That is my point ..A 13 pound tire is not worth a shit if it doesn't hook...

I've run the slick with grooves - worked well ! Went with the Power One and had to add a tooth to the rear because it was taller. I'm running more mph but it could be because of the gear... I still get low 1.4 to high 1.3 60ft times with bolt-ons.

Slick or treaded, there are bigger issues at play. Like rubber compound, sidewall stiffness, contact patch, etc....

But the biggest issue I see, given relatively equal tires, is chassis setup...

Sometimes people keep looking for a stickier tire...when their setup is the real culprit.
