Ordered and bought my 1st SHOEI RF-1000 Caster Full-Face Motorcycle Helmet
Ok, so I have always bought HJC in the past but have always wanted a Shoei or Arai helmet.... Well, Cycle Gear has a select few on sale and I got one for around $270 shipped. If you are in the market of getting a new helmet and wanted some cost savings, they have a few still left! My bike is partially apart now due to my rims being powder coated but hopefully I can put everything back together this weekend and go for a ride while testing the new "dome" protector!

Except you can't take the liner out of the rf1000 to clean or replace it like the x11, rf1100 or x12. Down here a helmet lasts about 3-4 years before it's replacement time even with removable liners.

Sweet! I love the Shoei's.
I was at cycle gear and wanted to take advantage of one of those deals. But they didn't have any colors or designs I wanted.

I use cycle gear like a fitting room. I'll go in find the right size that fits good then I'll leave and when I get home I'll order it from someone else online for a much better price.

The RF-1000 I got about 18 months ago is my favorite. My Arai Astral has a cheep front air duct.Had to super glue it back in. Good looking helmet but was suprised when the part just fell off. My Shoei RF-1000 matched my 2007 Diablo Metallic Black really close.
I looked for several weeks trying to find a solid Metallic Black that matched the Kawasaki paint.

Well, my helmet came in. I purchased a blue mirrored visor to add a nice touch and increase visibility from others(even if it's via admiration). I took my bike out for a run with the new helmet and I love this helmet.
In the past I've had many discussions with others(Especially FISH) on the different brands of helmets, cost factors, quality, and durability. You guys were RIGHT(FISH TOO )! Thanks for providing facts, opinions, and history of experiences.
Shoei ROCKS!

That's a nice combo. Now go ride the bike. I can still see the titties on the tires.

Once you buy and use a good helmet no matter what brand there's no going back IMO

That's a killer the way the helmet flows with the bikes color. Got to keep the blue and black theme intact. Nea is now rocking her RF1100 and loves it. She says its like a head air conditioner compared to her Hjc. Congrats man.

This helmet has the best airflow system I've ever felt. It is hot here in Florida and if the vents are open, you can REALLY feel the air flow. I've riden speeds up to 140mph and the wind does NOT move the helmet around erractically.
This helmet is AWESOME!
