____________
You only need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

Now maybe all the LITTLE guys will understand 16/48 is needed to get that weight moving into the 8's. 16/48 = 150.50 @ 9886 rpm in 6th = (1.036)= 4.786 overall gear
= 152.22 @ 10,000
= 153.75 @ 10,100
= 155.00 @ 10,180

16/41 = 155.00 @ 9694 rpm in 5th = (1.154) = 4.557 overall

You don't need 7 more gear teeth to make up for 70 lbs. of weight. That just my opinion, of course.

but is it hurting us? One big plus is your not riding the clutch nearly as long. So does that mean a clutch will last longer?

I'm not doubting your theories, i just know I never went that fast with 16/43. There has been a few small changes, but nothing that big....
Your right, it's all about fun unless you get paid for it, and I don't think anyone here is getting paid to race

Riding styles and gearing go hand-in-hand.
