Not in the business of offense, but with my experience with people, most practice their religion when it's convenient or when it's beneficial at the time. Please understand that I'm not talking about everyone. Some actually take it seriously.
Some of the biggest assholes I know are the holiest in the church, mosque, and temple. Nothing worse than someone acting an ass then turns around and wants to quote scripture or text to you due to the fault that they've seen in you. This is covered in the very text they're quoting from.
As a Christian(Although my faith is dwindling due to the very same crap that's going on here). . .I agree with the quote. We need to change our ways and look at ourselves and grow the hell up. Read a little history, and we can't run our mouths but so much.
Anyway, I need a friggin chain and sprockets. Life sucks right now. . .LOL!!!

Actually, I'm not offended by anyone standing up for their beliefs when they're integrity's questioned -- personally, I'll damn near die for mine..........However, I'm not questioning anyone's beliefs, and my signature is NOT aimed at anyone directly ( salsa included ) - I just find humor in a prophetically intelligent man saying this, and I've personal experience with the same hypocrisy in a lot of others of different congregations throughout my youth..........that's when I chose to segregate myself from "group" worship and believe what i believe - within - as that's all that matters.

Don't sweat it out folks ; when Jesus comes back he will set all accounts straight.....
Yes God honors your choice to go to hell if that is your choice...
But you should know there are better options....provided by God himself...and spread by man himself...Jesus is not only our example....he is also our saviour....his work on the cross as well as the perfect life he lived to become the once and for all times sacrifice is finished and very complete to save whoever hungers for righteousness and a real relationship with God........I don't believe God did all this work just for giggles myself....
Do with this as you please....
I will say Heaven and hell are very real as you will find out....so is God and his love...the better option is surrendering to his love and wiser ways....
only the choosen need apply..and men who care what may happen to their family without God in their lives....

I agree with the quote. Most Christians are full of it. They use the religion to prop themselves up or use it to hide what true pieces of crap they really are. When someone is into religion deeply I don't trust them. They usually use it to hide the evil deeds they do. Christianity is no longer about giving praise to God but about getting dressed up in your nice suit and tie and seeing who has the most expensive car. You shouldn't need some old rapist telling you "the church needs money. Give give give." God should live in you and the things you do. I never needed a church full of crooks to communicate with God. I'm not even sure if I believe in God in the Christian sense. I believe He exists. Does He exist and listen to your every word and prayer? Seems kind of self absorbed to believe the Creator of the universe is there at your service.

These are some of the exact lessons I learned throughout my Lutheran brotherhood youth..........why pay a flesh & blood "minister" to preach from a book that I have at home?? That would be like buying a phone book, and then paying an operator to look up phone numbers for you.........redundant in my opinion.

my Pastor has never Preached a message on tithing, what he has taught me is, where God calls, God provides. Also when you give, you get back, want a smile? give one. Want love? give love, ever hear the saying you reap what you sow? hehe

That is the problem Wheelie. Most of these guys have never been involved in a GOOD church. To many mainstream churches have become organizations and greed and political correctness has devoured their faith.
Our church NEVER preaches tithing...EVER. Our church does not preach that attending church makes you a better christian. It is just full of loving caring people for the most part that come to worship God. I don't blame people for being synical but you would understand better if you ever attended a true church of God that actually preached the BIBLE.
It is very hard to live the Christian life in this world which is precisely the reason I don't act like Salsa1. Guys that cannot live the life should not be preaching to others. It ends up giving them the feeling like many of the opinions represented in this thread.
I respect the opinion of others and the choice is theirs to make. I can tell you that true Christians are the happiest, strongest, most caring people I know.
BTW, I miss my 14 (just to keep this about motorcycles)

I am prospering systematically according to God's holy instructions provided for mankind....$$$...If God gave me all I have who is anyone qualified over God himself to tell me to get rid of it??? no way my friends..be not fooled.....God is a good God and wants us to have more than enough.....as I have.....obedience to his word is the key to prosperity...are you willing to obey God is the question?????
God will do for anyone what he has done for me.....I guarantee this by experience and biblical truth...God is not a liar nor a common man that he should ever lie or fail....

Sounds like someone is judging here. You know nothing of God more than anyone else here. You are just placing your bets on the fact God is the God the Christians portray in the bible. I believe there is a God but I'm only going on life experience and feelings in my heart. For all we know He might of created the universe and just watches from afar. To think God interacts in our lives with certainty is foolish. Too many bad things happen on earth to say God does everything for a reason. No, that would be Salsa1's way. Fire and Brimstone are not the way to a person's heart and real Christians know this.
If I came on this forum and was spewing racism you would have a big problem with it. Quit stereotyping Christians. The guys on TV asking for handouts are not Bible Believeing Christians. Priests that molest children are not Bible believing Christians, Salsa1 is not a Bible believing Christian, churches that preach tithing is the only way to heaven are not Bible believing Christians, churches that actually believe the priest can resolve your sins are not Bible believing Christians.
Here is the truth, there is only one true meaning of being a Christian and that is believing 100% in the Bible. The people you are talking about are no such creatures. If you think otherwise, you have never met a real Christian.
