Anyone remember the Kaw AR80?
I think they only made them in 1981 and 82. I sure would like to find one in good shape. I had one a long time ago. My buddy had the AR50 and another one had the Honda MB5. That honda would turn 10.5 RPM back in the day. I bought the 80 just so I could outrun them. We would hold road races in the back of the mall parking lot's on Sunday. man that was fun. then later I screwed it up by putting a bigger 2 stroke dirtbike motor in it. I have been scaning the net and there have been a few rough ones out there..

Cool little bike. I never remember seeing one of those on the street.I buy/sell/trade old mid 1960's Honda S-90 O.H.C. first bike I had was S-90, so I could spank my friends Yamaha 80 :-)

One of Kawasaki's District Managers has a AR80 that he brings to Mid-Ohio Vintage Days every year........it is perfect. Great looking bike for sure.
Hey Lab3,
My first new bike was a '68 Honda S65, the Super 90 had too much horsepower for my age at the time!!
I've got a line on a one owner S65 to buy this fall if the owner doesn't back out, can't wait.

Thanks for the offer Lab but it's gotta be a black one like I had years ago. $1600 seems fair considering I saw a fully restored 65 at Mid-Ohio last month for $4,000!!! Whew.
I used to lust after the Super 90's and Twin Jet 100's when I was a kid. I'm really wanting this S65 for sentimental reasons.

I remember them and the AR50 too.
We visited a Kawasaki weekend event at Bruntingthorpe (England) back in the mid nineteen-seventies and took an AR50 to enter a 2 hour 50cc bike race on the Cart Track they'd set up there. Three of our young mechanics had volunteered to ride it but they chickened out when it poured with rain.
In the end it was me and two others who rode it for 40 minutes each, still pouring with rain. All the cheats who'd brought along AR80's with AR50 side panels got no real advantage on the slippery surface. Getting your knee down in the wet on a tiny bike, even though you're only doing 40mph, is great fun.
I rode my GPz900R 250 miles back home that night with saturated leathers and a big smile on my face. Happy days !
