Both the standard CT and the CT Meg both make some great HP and ET improvements. Erica made her quickest passes with the CT at 9.20 on the stock wheelbase setup.

Hey Shane, How's the clearance on the quick access cover on that particular sidewinder. Thinking of shopping for another pipe to make room for quicker access for clutch tuning at the track. Sorry for jacking Racheal's thread.

The cover will need machined in order to clear the pipe.

I sent some throttle bodies up to Northernkaw (Harry) to have them bored out to 47mm. These were slated to go on my bike, with the new Competition CNC cylinder head. However, I've decided to give them a try on Racheal's stock motor bike for now.
Here they are:
You can see that the secondary shaft has also been thinned out, for better airflow. Stock ZX-14 throttle bodies are only 44mm. The 12R and Busa come from the factory with 46mm units.

We are trying to keep a few of these 47mm throttle bodies in stock now for exchange. But they don't stick around long since we sent a set to Rickey Gadson to try on his 1530 and picked up over 20 HP just from bolting them on. Word travels fast. We have seen 6 hp with a 1354cc with stock cams.
The 47's are also what is on Rickeys bike now with our head and cam package making 254 hp.

Put the bike on the dyno today. I'll cut to the chase: 184.XX hp SAE. Just under 185. The bike made 165 (with Area P Slip-Ons) the the day after we purchased it, on the same dyno. Mods were: Brock's CT, no air filter, 47mm TB's, and MR9. I think there is more to be had with some tuning and maintenance on the bike...we have only put 2 miles on it since we took delivery. My bike made about the same hp with stock TB's. I do have short velocity stacks on mine, which bumped the power curve up a bit. My bike also 6k less miles on it, and a non o-ring chain. I think the real test of these big TB's will be at the track, particularly LSR.
Here are two pulls, and you can see the power gained from removing the BMC Race filter. These sets of pulls were done within about 10-15 minutes of each other:
CT pipe at full wail on the dyno:
CT at idle:
Overall a very busy day, and I have more updates to add soon. The bike is also wearing my BST rear rim for now.

I also inspected the clutch today:
I don't know if the prior owner installed a new one, but this thing looked mint. I was going to measure stack height, but when I examined the outer plates I said, "forget it". I installed 3 Brock's spacers while I was in there.

Very cool mods. Thanks for sharing. I will be interesting to see what the head and tb do for your bike. Are you keeping the motor stock in your bike?

As for my bike, I don't know yet. Right now, all steam ahead on her machine!

quote:Shane, it looks like you need some more ignition advance above 9000.
So those two pulls are with and without the airfilter?
What about stock throttle bodies and then the 47's?
Just didn't have time for that, Jim. We were only at the dyno for about an hour, and I didn't have time to remove the stock TB's from my bike to compare. Yes, we made 5 pulls...3 with filter and 2 without. I recalled the bike pulling more mph on top without the filter, and I wanted to see if the dyno showed anything in still air.
We are trying to get the bike ready for the track, and there is a lot to do.
I have an ignition module somewhere around here, lol.

Shane, that's the original clutch - you can see that I never beat on that bike, and changed the oil several times.
So, is that my old bike on the dyno with your '07 tank on it, or did you put some Kaw decals on the '06 tank?

I put my tank on it for now. My tank has a low profile fuel pump (gives clearance for lowering the bike more), and has had plenty of MR9 through it. I have an '08 fuel pump to install in the 06 tank when I get time.
