Actually, we paid less than the cost of a new Busa for her bike, with all the accesories and turbo.

You should see them now.  The prior owner is the only one who kept them that clean. I usually wipe the wheels down with a rag that has a very light amount of WD40 on it.

Ouch...shame........ on Shane lol close spelling there. j/k my wheels are polished but I polish them once a week. But I do not have several race bikes to keep up with.

I sometimes do the WD40 thing also but those wheels have alot of nooks and crannies and they are PIA to clean! I usually end up cutting myself on the those inside spokes.....

I used to use S100 on some of my wheels, with light pressure from a garden hose.

I used to spend hours every saturday night polishing on all of the aluminum that was on my banshee and prepping it for the drags on sunday. Green jewelers rouge and lots of rags were the only way to go... Maybe some flitz and a power ball if the wheels were really bad and i needed to bring them back to life.

We finally got some time to work on the bike today. We are trying to work together on it, so that Racheal can learn along the way. That will make things a lot easier for us down the line. Have two ZX-14's will be a plus at the track, for sure. Things also move along more quickly, since I already know the bike pretty well.
Time to dig in, and see what's underneath:
We have installed threaded lowering links, lowering the bike about 2.5" in the rear, and a Brock's strap kit. I also changed out the front tire, since the oem one had 8600 miles on it. Overall things look good, but I did find a couple of areas that need attention. More on that later.
We are also taking off any extra, non-essential parts. This includes the passenger peg hangers, some sound-deadening material, etc. I am looking at a goal of around 185 hp SAE on race fuel, and 475 lbs ready to race. No exotic wheels, and fully street legal gear. We'll see how it goes.

Yeah....it has a sense of deja vu. I think we will have this one done within 5 more pages, though.
A lot of my build thread was trial and error, painstaking measurements, etc...thank goodness I don't have to go through that again.
