- Racheal's "New" 14 And Mods - We were able to score a great deal on a 2006 ZX-14 from the board member 14Black. We figured this would be a good replacement for Racheal's 2003 GSXR 1000. The GSXR has served her well, running 182.7 mph at Maxton, and 9.49 in the 1/4 mile.
Here are a few pics:
A quick trip to NC to get the bike:
Right now it is set up for Sport Touring:
We are going to set the bike up for street and race use. It will not be as radical of race setup as mine. We will keep the headlights and such for street operation.
We got home at about 1 am, and we had it on the dyno before 11 am the next morning.
165 HP SAE, with the Area P Slip-ons. Not bad, and exactly what I expected.
Anyway, this will be more of a casual thread than mine. There are a bunch of changes in store for the bike, but most will be streetable mods that apply to more people. Racheal ("RedRacer") will likely be posting along the way as well...it will be interesting to hear her impressions of the bike. She has never had a big displacement Kawasaki before. She's also anxious to do some of the work herself.

HaHa. Shane, thanks for the email. Yeah, that's my [former] baby, but she's in great hands. It was bizzare seeing you on the test-ride behind my Jeep because noone, other than the "tech" from the stealership that had put 3 miles on it initially has ever ridden that bike. Also bizzare to see it on the dyno! Glad you're loving it, and look forward to future posts. I will have another, eventually! I'll be in touch through email...
BTW, that was a 2.25 inch core Area P, if I remember correctly...

Yeah, I think she is going to fly on this bike!
Her best 60' on the 61" GSXR is 1.50...here is a pass, footshifting, when the clutch was getting soft, and the track going away...we never put an airshifter on the bike...
Scorching heat, and tired rider...but not bad...
I think she will do much better on the 14. I rode the 1000 a lot (my first 9's). It is way harder to ride, but a lot of fun.

It's ALL fun....just expensive. Waiting on my extended warranty to run out before I use your old Spencer Cycle Extension and strap or have on off my extra forks lowered internally.
You are lucky Shane, Rachael likes to Race too. My wife will only go for a ride on the back of the od FJ1200 we have had for 20 odd years.
She said I am too Speed Stupid on the 14 ................. LMAO when she said that.

The Carrozzeria's are good rims, but I wouldn't pay $2k for the V-Tracks. I would ge tthe Tri-R, personally. Just my .02, maybe only worth .01.

Are the wheels on Racheal's Busa polished Tri-R? Was looking at the Carrozzeria site for a ZX-14 wheels. Looks like they sell a package with rotors.
