I use to be a Hoyt dealer, does that count?

I can say if someone breaks into my house, and all I have is a bow, their is a pretty good chance they can take whatever they want and not get hurt. Unless I walked up to them and stabbed them with a arrow! Lol

I use to bow hunt, now just target shooting. Been into Archery for years.

Back when my old Golden Eagle, Double Eagle compound bow was "The target" bow,

matched limbs, trick cams, optic's......... sold a Oneida Screaming Eagle compound bow

over draw, etc. I use to shoot at the IDBA field in Irving. Up hill, down hill 4 shot walk up. Great place to practice. bet you knew that.... :-) Anyone can drop a deer with a high powered rifle ina tree stand that they have a feeder 75 yards away...... sigh. Try a bow and any shot farther than 30 yards is luck or you are good and that white tail has Not been shot at before. They will "jump" a string "Quick' pom poms on string, camo, scent killer etc........ get down out of the tree stand and shoot a white tail on the ground and wait 30 minutes before you move as bambi will run for a little and lay down and bleed out if you miss a heart shot. Drop a deer that way..........You Are A Sportsman. Sorry if this offends but I am Not into shooting any animal just for a "Rack" Boone and Crocket.... is a waste to me. IMHO...... just sayin.

Used to hunt whitetail here in Ohio when I was young, but haven't been in over a decade......Dad and I went bow / shotgun / primative weapon seasons for several years. I know that fishing with a bow is fun as long as you watch your feet when you're shootin'!!!! Those arrows tend to arc a bit underwater!! Why you asking? Looking for a good bow?

In a tree stand or on the ground??? Arkansas wild Boar Hogs are not to be taken lightly.

If down on ground a 44 Mag pistol or Bigger is a good idea for a back up if you miss with bow. Or hunt with friend that is a GOOD with firearms.

I have done both actually. I remember one time letting one pass that looked like it weighed 400lbs. I decided not to press my luck because I was actually on the ground for that one. I don't really like tree stand hunting though. I don't have ANY patience. The typical Florida hog only weighs 100lbs. Most of the people here use pit bulls and thats when I stopped! I think it is cruel to watch a dog catch a pig and besides that, the noise that a pig makes once its being bitten by the dog is horrible. Sorry for the rant! I usually only hunt during small game season now because its cheap and fun.

I never got past the part where you strip down naked and apply the camo paint to your nude glistening body.

How do you guys do it?

Hell, I wore hunter orange hats and gloves with standard brown Carhardt coveralls 30 feet up in a stand........hunters could see me, but the deer never knew I was there, they just went about walking around grazing and scraping and rubbing.........we never baited them in either -- just had a great land location that they would migrate thru every year and there were some bulls in a few groups.........i remember this one buck I startled out of a small orchard, he went up on his hind legs and I'll bet he was at least 8ft high at the antlers -- Had tracks like a cow -- had to have weighed around 300lbs or more -- big old buck with a good 10 or 12 points.........never did get him, but managed to lay out a couple of his does over a season........hate buying doe tags..........basically last resort, but it's like going hunting knowing you're probably not gonna drop a buck

Target shooting at the out door range in Irving has a 80 YARD walk up targets, up hill and down hill. 1Bad this IS one sport I WILL BET you $$ I can kick your ass at. Not kidding now.
All your money won't help you here........... 80 yards 4 shots $100.00 a shot. Bring it. You really had fun wanting to race my junk stock 14 as you called it for a $1,000.00. I had to pass, crawfish is what you posted lol I know I would lose to a turbo. But this my friend I have been doing for 40 years. I am no Robin Hood ...LMAO... Bring your money and your
junk bow and come get some. Same with a 12 gauge, Dad and I shoot skeet and trap for 40 years too. I reload my ammo......... My Browning is waiting on you. :-)

Browning Auto 5 Belgium made... Light Model vented Rib Barrels ( I have two)
FN Fabrique National steel made in 1959 that are like new. A old antique like me :-)
I had the barrels 32" and a 28" threaded for the different chokes.

Yup ! I do plenty of bowhunting , but not much success ? I 've shot at deer , pigs , and an occasional squirrel , but so far only successful at shooting buffalo (fish LOL) , and a truckload of alligator gar ! Went down on Boggy last weekend , but all I caught was poison oak , and Sumac , ticks , and skeeters! My cousin told me to pack some heat , cause there's a few 500lb boars sneakin around in them switchcanes so I strapped on my piece , slung my 9mm carbine over my shoulder , then spent most of the day trying to get untangled in switchbriars , and lookin out for canebreak rattlers and cottonmouth moccosins ! Sweated off 5lbs before I got out of that mess !
I LOVE BOWHUNTING anyway!

I've done some bow hunting, but I haven't had a chance to go since 2003. I did make a 50+ yd shot through a thicket the last time that I went though :P. That was with Dad's Jennings Black lightning. I had a fred bear heart, but it's not with us anymore so I'm going to have to buy another one before moving to maryland.

BTW... Hogs are supposed to be hunted from the ground and you don't need a large caliber gun to kill them. All it takes is a well placed shot from a 22mag and they drop in their tracks everytime.
