zx14: 2 vrod destroyer: 0

Went to a test n tune tonight and ran 22 passes. Ran a PR 9.48@144 too. Went up against a v-rod destroyer twice, and smoked it twice. The first run I forgot it was a pro tree and he caught me sleeping, but I still walked around it hard on the top end.

Not bad. Ya gotta give the hog rider a bit of credit though. And 130 in the 1/4 is not bad for a garden tractor

Still, it's a 1300cc twin. Obviously it kicked the shit out of you on the 60 ft, but didn't have the power after that.

My guess is that the Destroyer puts out about 135 hp...no match for a 14, obviously.

with the bars it's got a chance to get the jump, with a decent jockey, but after that, the shows over

It's apples to oranges. The Destroyer runs in it's own class which if you go to the AHDRA you can see that the V-twin guys have a huge following. There events are packed out. The Destroyer that I rode had a little work done and went mid 9.60's at 135 MPH. I actually like the V-Rod. I also have a Road King and a Sporster along with my other sportbikes. I will give them credit. The events I have been to they have most of the same classes but just run a lot slower. The street classes are packed out with mostly stock bikes. Everybody has fun and for the most part it's just good fun. I don't know what they do different but where the sportbike races are a dying breed the H-D crowd still packs them in. And Girls...... Well lets just say the Road King gets more attn. than any other bike I have owned. It's a whole different type of racer, there not really as serious as Sportbike riders. I went 5 rounds before I took myself out with a redlight. I had it dialed on a 12.37 @ 102mph in the 1/4. I think that there was over 150 street entries.

Ya, it had bars. He was a big guy (about 300 lbs), but I thought it should have gone as fast or faster then me regardless...... all I have to say is I'm glad I got my 14.

Those are awesome #'s for a 300 lb. guy...and very consistent (one sign of rider skill).

He did voice his frustration when we were racing. He said he wanted to be closer to 140 in mph, and he's usually running 9.70s consistently.

Well then he better ride it out of an airplane door if he wants 140mph at 300 lbs.

Just saw a brand new 06 on the floor last weekend for $19,900. Still a lot of coin for only 10's.

a guy at my track has one....yeah it's got bars, a slick and leaves on a 2-step so the 60fts are going to be down, but 1.45 is not all that great for a dragbike setup...must be his 300#. These bikes are not a top end bike so they are easily run down after the 1/8...at least thats my experience. Love blowin' by them!! Not worth the $ at all IMO.
