Street bike night BMP ..
Can anyone say HOT !!!! High 90s and 60% humidity , time to sweat .. DA was just over 3000 feet... This was an all bike night , NO damn cars to oil down the track ..NO Rails doing half track burn outs because they want to look like John Force .. Got my first pass off about 7:30 and got right back in line for another pass .. A blue ZX14 in front of me pull a big wheely and slams it back down , Next thing i see the bike is spinning around on the ground and so was the rider ...You know what happened , yes stock oil pan meets MR Track ..And yes he oiled down the track to the 330 mark .. We had one Vmax there tonight and i think the best it ran was an 11.80 something .. Also there was a Rocket 3 running 13.70s .. I got in 5 passes before it rained and called it a night ..I did ok for not racing my bike for the last 6 weeks ..A little rusty but still kept the bike in the 9 teens .. My best was 9.16 @ 153.49 ...I was very happy with the MPH .. The last time out all i could muster was 151 and change.. I was just to rusty to hit high 1.40 60 footers .. My best was tonight 1.53 .. All and all not a bad night of drag racing .... Next all bike night is Aug 27 .. FL guys come on out and have some fun with us next race ..

BMP is a good track...
If I had the $$$, like when I win the lottery  I would definitely take a ride down & Bracket Race with you guys!!!

No doubt Bradenton is my all-time favorite track. The first time i ran there was back in1987 at a Dragbike! USA national meet. The first time i ran down the track had me laffin my azz off. If i am not mistaken, i think i remember the shut-down area is a slight uphill? Anyways, i remember coming to the end of the shutdown and seeing this huge sign hanging on the fence proclaiming..."END OF TRACK". Funny as hell.
Anyways,i set my first nat'l records there in 1987, breaking the existing records in C-Gas class(1250-1299cc). The existing record was 9.05 @ 142 i believe, i dropped it to 8.98 @ 144.something. I still remember how estatic i was when my buddy came down with the e.t.slip and i saw the numbers!
Then in Dragbike's 1988 meet there i set my best E.T. and MPH records, 8.84 @ 149.5 MPH in B-Fuel class. That class allowed methanol, nitro, doctored up race gas, but i did those records on C-14. I also won my class at that meet and took home some dough.
Great track with very consistant traction, bu oh so friggin HOT. There was no shade back then. We joked with a racin buddy of ours, a black guy that got so hot and suffered some heat exhaustion, we told him he almost turned white!!
I am glad to hear it's still going. I also like the state park down the road, camped there
during both years we attended, and also spent a week there on a summer vacation. Very peaceful, is it still there? I remember the track was kinda out and away from everything, has the area been built up? We had Miami-Hollywood track down here but it went the way of the dodo bird as South Fla expanded. There are townhomes and shopping malls where it once was.

that sounds like a lot of fun. I lived down there in 87 and raced at that track a few times. today and tomorrow is the pmra races at our local track.
