I hope it's not too much power with those extensions.

Looks good! I want to be 2nd in line to ride!

Looks great. You've given subtle hints about your total build, but I know I would appriciate you explaining your whole build! Which turbo are you using, and how did you limit it to 5psi initially. I can't find any actuators that go that low.

thanks, I had a couple of old turbos layin around and one of those had a 5psi actuator on it. I started out with one of the kits that you were talking about off ebay. On the stock motor I used that kit with a 18g turbo . of course then I got greedy and wanted more boost so I put an external gate on it with turbo pistons, valve springs, studs, oil mods and money. I rode it to bike night last night but I havent had on the dyno to map it yet so Ihavent boosted it yet. We are gonna try and do that this wk end and see what kinda power it will make. I will try to post a couple of pics of the build.

So how much boost are you planing on running, my bike is set at 12psi right now and I'm gonna be turning it up to 15 soon I think, it should make about 365hp on 15psi maybe alittle more, on the stock motor still

nope, the fuel system has a 1:1 rising rate with a 255 pump, -6 feed and return, big fuel rail from Compton, and some 725cc injectors from Botch, its ran on E85 as well. this motor has 15,500 miles on it, i just got a gen2 to ride around on, so im gonna be turning this one up little at a time and see where it will take me, i bet i can hit 380 or so maybe even a hair more before the pistons go in it. i have heard rumers of a few 14s making 400+hp with stock internals and i have seen a gen1 make 365 on stock internals so we shall see

yeah the fuel system is the key. Iam runnin a boshe033 pump and a big fuel rail, havent changed the injectors yet (its a money thing) . I have only heard of one guy around here playin around with e85. If we want anything but pump gas( 91octane) then we have to buy from a speed shop (c16).or mr9or12. I have been told that around 300 on a stock motor is the limit

No way. It would have had a hole in the block before long at that power. It had the shorter Carrillo Rods and turbo pistons.

im not afraid of melting a piston, im more afraid of a rod going through the block, thats why im so cautious of turning it up anymore. when it made 390hp how much boost was it at? im guessing 15-16psi right?

the rods will be there long after a stock piston goes away. of course thats just my opinion and I dont know it all, (even if I think Ido sometimes). I dont want you guys thinkin that Iam bashing you or your bikes ,Iam learning as I go. gilberjj, if your bike is close to being done and all you need is an actuator I can find you one. the one I was using is on my 84 750 ninja.. If you are still putting one together I would say go with an external gate. your goin to in the future anyway.lol. did you get one of the cycle-logic kits?

Ya, I am using the cycle logic kit. I'm bidding on a turbonetics wastegate right now..... External would be best......

17-18 pounds of boost controlled by a AMS-500. Bike was fast and fun to ride. The biggest problem was sealing the frame. It had a bunch of boost leaks to fix.
