I had a dream last night where there was tons of ear wax exploding out of my ear.......

That being said, Kawasaki has always been known for having the best stock engine. Let's hope they don't disappoint. The current gen zx10 is ugly, so imo, Kawi has some work to do.

the liter leaners will all be seeing updates to match beemer performance
unless we get the new valvetrain design and larger intake system on the 14...the zx14 just became an old slow bike
That would be a cheap upgrade for kawi!

hint hint... is anyone listening

Kawi could have VERY easily made more power out of the 14. The compression is too conservative.

We were expecting a new ZX-10 next year which the teaser confirms.

I just wonder if their dealers will be happy with this, how many of the existing model will they sell this now without massive discounts?

Who cares about the old models. You can only look forward. It's ALWAYS good to be in the limelight. Look how well the r1 sold when it was in the limelight. Now it's just another jap liter bike cause the bmw stole the show. Market hype sells bikes to an extent, and I'm sure Kawi dealers will be thrilled to get this new bike.

The current ZX10 makes great power. A friend that works at the plant has a nice blue one. It has a full exhaust, 8" inch bolt on Ext. lowered, regeared but not sure what it is now, PC3 and a dry kit and it will fly in the 1/8th. it has no engine mods and is almost as fast as my 1000 with a few tweaks. I have never heard one person say anything good about the way it looks. And so far it seems to not have the weak transmission of the earlier models.

upping zx14 compression will not make up for the advantage of levered valvetrain, but would certainly be a great addition to the finger follower valve actuation.

It would need both IMO.

"Who cares about the old models" is exactly my point. If a dealer has bought-and-paid-for stock of the 2010 bike he will have to give them away now. Getting the timing right for the launch of a new model is critical. These teasers, when there is no bike to show, can do more harm than good by stalling the market. A healthy dealership benefits the customer in the long run.

They need to get it to turn, because the zx10 is always last out of the big 4 in racing.

The ZX-14 is not really designed as a true sport bike. It is a ZZR really...but one hell of a fast one.
