Looks positively lethal! if Kawi is following BMW's lead in molding a new look to match ground breaking performance, I'd say they are definitely doing a much better job in the looks dept.. I don't think they are going to scare anyone away but I wonder if thet might be going a bit far with the edged weapon appearance. I like very much but I don't know if we need to play up the aspect of danger.

Kawasaki should have no problem meeting the Beemer challenge....should they do it with this present economy and can they make it near as affordable as their previous ZX-10R is the question ....I say they will....besides all this I don't believe the beemer is cutting similar times around a circuit track....

I will take a Kawasaki myself between the two....I have already seen what the beemer costs to modify for dragracing......I can do better without it....

Eh, they are going to be made in Thailand? Probably gonna mean the build quality is gonna be as crappy as the current model 250R.

So you think it'd be better if it was made in the states? I seriously doubt it.
It wouldn't surprise me to see it being built over here. There has been talk in Thailand about this for the last couple years.
As far as quality goes, it's got F' all to do with where it's built.
The corporate QC is what determines what happens.

The article discussing about the zx10 said that this next generation one will be built at the new Thailand plant to cut costs. That's where all those 250r mods are built and I'm not impressed at it's bold quality. Then again it is a cheap bike to begin with.

While this is true to a extent, there is a reason why labor is cheaper. Regardless of country built if they are well paid the product quality will be good but in this case they are trying to cut production costs so that could never be good. Work ethics have alot to do with it too, do you think someone getting paid $8 hr will do a job as good as the guy getting paid $20? You get what you pay for is what I say. Personally if I had the option I'd rather pay a little more to get a higher build quality. I've owned a fair share of bikes and I think Kawasaki build quality is still better then my Suzuki. My honda was the best I've owned though.

They are making the ER6N's here also. I've looked at several and they seem to be pretty decent. Like you said, the 250 is a cheaper bike to begin with, as well as the 6N. Everyone I know that has one is quite happy. I'm sure that corporate will do everything needed to insure the quality of the next 10R. Hope it means we just get more bike for the money.

Let's hope so. It looks like a promising bike, it would be a shame if it had shoddy build quality.

Kawasaki likes to lay down the gauntlet and run to the head of the pack. For them to be satisfied it will have to flat outpower the BMW and that is going to be a tough nut.

The Japs have more than enough technology to "outpower" the beemer.
Just hasn't been a reason until now. I'd almost bet money that with the variable timing and lift, it will make more power both bottom and top.

Why can't they make it look better. that's why they don't sell. Most people that buy them don't race them and they want it to look cool.

Haha I liked the 05' 636 look more then current gen zx6 / zx10 which to me look like it's cross eyed.

They need to get it to turn, because the zx10 is always last out of the big 4 in racing.

*cough* you didn't bring that up in this forum.
