I've never had it synced. It has never been drag raced. I never noticed anything and one day I just heard it have a tapping sound. It seemed to happen around the time I pulled the flies, put on pipe and power commander. I didn't drop anything in the throttle bodies. I'll have to find a magnet and see if I can pick the metal up. Still haven't had a chance to cut the filter. The metal isn't exactly balls just small like dirt and metallic.

I thought you had the TB sync done when it was at the DynoShop.................ummmmmmmmmmm

bore scope and leak down each cylinder. Friend has bore scope we can borrow. Like I said before lets find a way to "Open" the dirty oil filter with out a hack saw. (more metal) Remove oil filler plug and look and clutch basket with flash light. You have done rol on's and gave a all I wanted thru the gears. So NO real dead stop Drag Racing on your 14...?????? But it has seen the Red Line a time or several :-) Lee has over 50,000 hard miles on his. And you two keep up oil changes????? Lets keep looking. I spent a hour on google looking up mercury elements.....it needs to be Really Cold to harden. But you said no meters we ever on your 14..... forget that.

I tore the oil filter open last night. Punched a hole in it then used some heavy duty scissors to cut it in two. There was nothing in the oil filter. I looked all through it and nothing was in there. I guess if it was bad there would be something in the oil?

Nothing in the oil filter eh?
I wouldn't worry about it then cause if it was bad then you would have a ton of that stuff in that filter.
Small noises while the engine as idling or even at low speeds are pretty normal . Some have more than others . The bad noises are the ones that come from the bottom end are there when going wide open throttle .
