Just a thought. . .
What would be the pros and cons of running a rotary engine in a motorcycle?

haha, you clearly know very little about rotorys.... they are very finiky, require lots of maintenance, but that being said, what other import engine has more cars in the 7s?

Actually, the "wankel".....no not wanker engine has turned out to quite robust.
When they first came out, they couldn't keep the apex seals in it, just didn't have the technology back then, and it was quite sometime ago.
Suzuki came out with a prototype wankel powered bike back in 72 or 73' I remember, because it was astrange looking thing.

Wankel?!?! I haven't heard that term since I was flying model airplanes back in the 80's -- ahhhhh, to reminisce...

I saw the Norton Rotary race. Steve Spray and Trevor Nation back in the late 1980's and early 1990's on the JPS Nortons were fantastic. Watching Steve Spray through Donington's Craner Curves, mostly on the back wheel was totally awesome.
Trevor brought one along to the Brighton Speed Trials, which was a standing start half-mile at that time. He had "Brighton Rocks" hand cut into a slick tire and did the whole course on the back wheel waving to the crowds, still posting a faster terminal speed than my old ZX-11 Kawasaki.
In 1990 Robert Dunlop notched a double in Ireland's North West 200 and finished third in the F1 TT and Trevor Nation was second in the Senior TT. The Norton won in the Isle Of Man in 1992 ridden by Steve Hislop.
It has a lot of history for a bike which was only produced for a limited time and many well known racers were involved. You can still buy the Norton Rotary.
