Cycle Logic Lock Up Clutch????

Here is the link: http://www.cycle-logicmotorsports.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=56

I have an 06 with exhaust, PCIII, BMC RaceFilter, 40 shot dry, Brock spring spacers.

My questions are:

Does anybody have any experience with this lock up clutch?
With my mods is it worth it?
Did you make any more horsepower/ improve ET/MPH?
Any Pros/Cons?

Any help would be greatly appreciated before I go (possibly) wasting my money.

Thanks

It is possible that you improve your et's with it. It should help you 60ft more consistantly. I would highly recommend it.

Definately worth having since I have over 410 passes on the clutch where I would get 100 to 150 before.

Well over 1000 passes so far with mine with no issues. It definitely extends clutch life for sure. And you ride your bike the same way, you really won't even know its in there.

Wow! 1000 passes. I would like to know the stack height on that set now. Mine is down to 2.080 last I measured.

Did any of you guys get your pressure plates modified? Have you heard anything about the lock up breaking stock pressure plates?

No, and I have put a lot of weight on it at one time or another too. It just wears a divot where the arm presses against it.

Sorry, what I meant to say was 1000 passes on the lock-up itself, not 1000 passes on the clutch plates.

I did get 500 passes out of a set though.

500 is the most I've ever heard of out of a single clutch pack.

I was going to drill and tap 4mm bolt holes in the center of the divots and install 4mm hex head bolts to act as buttons. Just havent gotten around to it yet but it will eventually happen.

MTC does it for $70.00. They countersink nickel size pieces of steel into the pressure plat and grind down the ridges all the way to the center of the plate.

That is why I didnt have them do it. Seems like it would weaken it some. I'm going to flatten the ridges only where the bolt heads will be.

The plate is thick enough to tap enough threads in and red loctite will make sure they stay there. They will have to be shortened enough to just make it through the plate. Any longer and the bolts will hit the inner hub.

Sorry about the threadjack. It is worth the money and bolts in without any mods to anything. The spacer is 1/2" thick and the bodywork needs no mods to fit either. You cant feel the difference in your hand when clutching for the first 40 feet. It starts taking over at about that point but you can still override it with the lever.

OK I bought it. Now a few questions.....

Should I still use the Brock's spacers? I only have three in right now and really can"t tell a difference from stock. I am a pretty heavy dude @ 230lbs unsuited. Should I use all five?

Thanks

with the lockup installed you dont have to use any of the spacers because the lockup will apply plenty of pressure.

Spacers add static pressure which helps the bike get moving and the lockup adds dynamic pressure as wheel speed increases. I personaly use the spacer, however, I am 300lb.
Kawasakijockey is the best at tuning these clutches that I have talked to. However, gearing, hp, riding style etc... all have to be consider. Long story short.... others with set-ups close to yours can only get you close. Then, try diffrent combos to see what works for you. My 2cents

I tried it without spacers and felt it was too weak on the initial hit, which is very critical in order to get the bike moving.

If 3 spacers feel too weak to you, use all 5.

I have all 5 brocks heavy springs, no spacers, with the Cycle Logics lockup. Works like a champ!
