Good Eye. That was a hand made Carbon Fiber silencer made by Brad Corn... Brads Fab. His shop use to bend the pipes for D&D backin the day. Brad used my D&D 4/1 system for fitting his silencer that had a larger inside dia. After pic I re-Bolted the D&D CF silecer back on.... :-) Brad used it for a DB sound test tooo ..... :-)

Yea I had a star pipe on my 86 GS1150E. Proably was made by Vance & Hines anyway.

I owned 2 different '82 GS11Es over the years and had V&H megaphones on both. Great pipe for that bike. And, if I remember correctly, one of the bike mags of the day - Cycle Guide maybe - ran a pipe shoot out which I thought picked the V&H. Fuzzy memory on that though I must admit.
