I love this bike!

Out riding my ZX today - this is my 2nd 14 for a total of 4 yrs riding 14's. This is easily the coolest bike I've ever owned and I don't know how it can get any better! With the 16/43 setup, the 4 degree timing advance, exhaust /PCIII, etc...this thing just pulls like a fucking freight train, and it never seems to stop pulling hard until redline! I've had 10R's/R1's/Gixxer's/Busa's and still, nothing comes close to this thing! I don't know that I ever get tired of it. As much as I love my Connie, there's nothing like my ZX when it comes to sheer, brute, balls-to-the-wall straight-line power. Twist the throttle at any speed in any gear, and it's just gone! Now, if I could only ride it without the fear of pissed off coppers out there...

I agree and the latest issue of 2 Wheel Tuner says the same. Probably the most positive writeup I've read. (I thought someone from this board wrote it)

It gets much worse Steve. Wait until you get the pipe changed out and a decent fuel map in.

Heheh I haven't rode a 08+ busa to compare but it certainly feels more brute then early gen busas hands down. I had the opportunity to ride a 05 busa my friend bought 55 miles home from the previous owners house and i was like this is it? I was somewhat let down, granted it was stock at the time but I've been on some liter bikes that felt like they packed more punch then that had. I didn't get what all the fuss was about. Now fast forward 2 weeks later when I bought my zx I was like holy f****n s**t the whole 95 miles home!! It was modded w a muzzy full pipe, and pciii but damn what a different animal.

Lets face it, the are both FAST motorbikes. As much as I hate to admit it the Busa has better aeros.

But Kawasaki rules.... in my heart.

I've ridden an orange 08 Busa wit almost identical mods as my 06 14 and still feel my 14 pulls harder. I would still like to own both though.

Aero? I don't LSR so not up to speedon this. Both seem to have same top speed (limiter off) stock to stock.

Busas freaking rule on aerodynamics. They are routinely faster than 14's on the big end. The Achilles heel of going full tilt on a 14.

I love the fairings and look of the 14. However, it is my understanding that Kawasaki did boocoo tests for the most slippery fairing, and turns out it was basically identical to what the 'busa ended up with. They didn't produce it because K thought it was too ugly and wouldn't sell.

...and yes, FBA, I think the 14 may be the best overall bike ever made, but to each his own.

I love my 14 too........best streetbike I've ever had. I'm a bigger muscleheaded guy so it's about as easy to throw around the track as my old Yammie 1000 and damn near same weight with just a bit more wheelbase. Definitely the best ride on the road today in my opinion.

How much faster??? Stock to stock no limiter. For me with 16/43 no worries :-)

I ride with a 08 Busa with more gear than me :-) My14 TommyC we are close

I usually inch him out until he hits limiter at 170.

I am new to LSR so please take my comments with a grain of salt. Right around 170mph the wind gets ugly.

From what I have seen a delimited 14 with pipe and commander is down about 5-7mph in the mile compared to a similarly equiped Busa.

Busas have a strong tuning advantage as their ECU has been hacked. this makes removing limiters and other modifications easier and cheaper.

I would take the 14 over a connie myself...I prefer a nice car ride for anything over 100 mile ...

spoiled I know....

The 14 has to be a great all around bike....heck my ZX-11 is nice enough and it is way low on power compared to the 14...

Potential speeding tickets is a drawback on these power houses....that is why I am dedicating my low geared 04 ZX-10R for dragracing and the ZX-11 for the streets....

too much fun can cost and hurt if we don't watch it........

Ok. thanks... I thought the 06/07 ZX-14 computers can be "Hacked". I'm good with a PCIII USB :-)

Actually you're right about the 170mph thing, ive reached 178 indicated on the speedo but the bike starts to get a little unsettled like front end is lifting off with throttle pinned in 6th. The steering feels very light and vague with very little to no feedback, its not exactly confidence inspiring. The wind is extremely ugly at those speeds also, if def needs more frontal downforce as it feels like im gonna see tank slapper at any min at that speed.
