First time at 1/4 mile track with chris jones map
Even though I didn't get my 8.99 pass, it was fairly hot. As you can see in the pic getting it tuned helped a little. Before with brocks map it would not lift the front tire shifting to 2nd. Now it will loft it, Which means it is making more power.
DA yesterday was between 1400 and 1900.

Weight of the bike/rider was 712lbs back in April. There are 150 lb riders going 155mph here, I'm assuming it's the weight that's hurting my mph on top end.

I suggested that my custom map was better than the Brock's map and I was basically told I don't know what I'm talking about.

When he printed off the sheet he didn't have it listed, I saw it as I was pulling out of his driveway and didn't want to go back inside and ask him to pull it up as he had other people waiting.
Mph was close to same in cool weather, I am not as good as I should be about keeping up with time slips... something that will work on logging it in a book.

The reality is that nothing beats a good custom map for your bike.
But a lot of dyno guys don't know what they are doing...and in that case you would be much better off with a proven one, such as Brocks.
Nobody who really wants the last % of speed uses an off-the-shelf map. The serious guys use data loggers and tune at the track as well.

your right it wasn't BAD, but not as good as we see around here. For it to be my best numbers and not the best air I hope to hit a 8 soon.
The pass above was 2nd pass of the trailer.
I had better 60fts later in the day, but it had got hot enough the bike didn't want to pull any good numbers
That was 89 pump gas.

yes. I ran his bike once and it done 146 with a hoooorible 60ft. His gearing was 16/44 and was a big difference in launching.

If you were running 89 pump gas,and at your weight, that is very good mph.

Dusty it worries me that there is such an even increase on your graph. It looks like your whole map was leaned out just to show more HP on the dyno. Get a printout with AF ratio or even better get the run files. You can download the viewer off DJ's site and see a whole lot more information.

I do remember the a/f was not even with brocks map. I do remember him straightnening it up. He is in Michigan right now. I will call him and see if I can get him to email me a copy. You got me thinking...

Your custom map works Great. Have it installed. Are you off on Monday? If so come over. Have the new lift hooked up.

I wouldn't worry to much about it .. Chris Jones is a great tunner and one hell of a nice guy too ... You have to remember Brock built and tested his maps up north in pretty damn good air .. I think Brock would be the first to tell you may need to tweak the map for different parts of the country .. So i can see Chris leaning your map out a bit if that what he did ..For 99.9% of zx14 guys Brocks maps will be just fine but there are a small number of us looking for that last tiny bit MPH and ET ..
