It would be more impressive to go 8.90's or 8.80's at stock wheel base first, then add some wheel base.

I agree .. Brock was going to run it in AMA SS class but it will not pass the rules for that class ..You can't lower bike bike without moving the shock location and that is a no no in SS class ..So my guess is Brock figured to go for broke and slam it and add 9 inches ..So far the only report i heard was 9.35 @ 156 at stock wheel base and stock pipe .. That is pretty damn fast for a stock bike ...My 09 stock never went that fast ..

are you serious? lightweight....high horsepower. It'll be fast.
Not sure why folks don't think this thing will be fast. The ONLY thing in question is whether or not it's durable. This is the next generation of liter bikes...Japan will be stuggeling to catch up for a couple of years. This bike is light years ahead of current liter bikes.

HOLY CRAP! 8.70s for sure if the bike can be ridden like any other bike out there. A zx14 with 204whp would go 8.50s... a gsxr1000 with 204whp AND 9" over would go 8.50s easy. That thing should FLY!
The local bmw parts counter quoted me $531 for a clutch. ouch

You wouldn't want to put a stock clutch in it anyway. The stock unit is a slipper type. Brock had posted before that a bone stock S1000RR with a strap ran an 8.30 at 156, but he said that it was launching like a rocking horse because of the clutch.

that might be due to electonics kicking in. Not sure how that slipper would affect acceleration.

Maybe, but I thought you could turn off all the anti wheelie and traction control stuff.
But on a different note, I saw a guy on a stock wheelbase s1000RR at the track last Friday and he was getting beat by his buddy on a CBR600. He said that the wheelie control was on but it was still pulling the wheel in first, second and third. I don't even think that he got in to the 6's in the 1/8. But he definitely wasn't a drag racer.

The cost isn't that much more than a Japanese bike, especially if you are drag racer, you wouldn't opt for all the traction control and abs crap.

Here ya go right from the track ..
Brock Davidson The progressive numbers are as follows:
60 ft – 1.394
330 ft – 3.621
1/8 ET – 5.490
1/8 MPH – 129.48
1/4 ET – 8.497
1/4 MPH – 158.46
One item to note is that the bike ran out of gear in the top of sixth and ran into the rev limiter slightly before the finish line certainly negating a trap speed over 160 MPH even in these very windy conditions.
