BMW dragbike

Brock posted earlier on facebook that he'll be testing their S1000RR this weekend. Anyone have a guess as to what times it will run? Here's the skinny on it. I'm guessing 8.8's with a pro jockey, but then again I also think that the bike is all hype too...

I am suprised that Brock has put so much r&d into a BMW. The reason I say that is how many of those bikes are going to treated to that type of mods that will be street bikes. Hard to recover all that r&d money if you only sell a 100 or so pipes.

Depending on the air, I would hope 8.60's with a lightweight jockey. That is a lot of power, and not much weight.

Wonder how much it weighed before-hand......and how much it weighs after-mods.......does anybody live up there that could possibly witness the testing? I'm going to check the weather for today and tomorrow in Mich -- I know that here in Ohio the wind is kicking pretty good.......so, hopefully the track faces the northeast to give them a good tailwind!

you think this bike is all hype? wow...you have not been reading anything from the euro mags have you. The SS is everything it is supposed to be and then some. Japan will have to seriously step up to match this bike. It's the new wave of liter bikes and expect to see Japan follow suit.

The bike is no hype , doubt BMW had in mind , what Kawaski did when development of the 14 , that's where Brock comes in making it work on the strip, doesen't look as strong built as a ZX , cost's way more , no aftermarket yet, has bmw stamped on it , still intersted to see how this plays out!
How many years to we have a surplus of parts on e bay , ore used bike's, lot's of used zx14, hyabusa , all have more support in the states , cost less !
Have friend's that work at bmw dealer's , think bmw think money ' the hype is in the company's product's all of them not just one model ! but every dealer think's those beat up 1/2 worn out one's are worth gold . guess that sticker on the side is worth more , than the machine ?

LETS NOT GET TOO CARRIED AWAY FIRST IT HAS TO RUN SOME RESPECTABLE TIMES BEFORE THE HYPE TAKES OVER SO HOW MUCH BETTER THAT BIKE CAN DO/ 8.9 SEC. FOR BOTH ZX14 AND HAYABUSA AND IF SO THEN START TALKING WHEN THE FLAG DROPS THE BULLSHIT STOPS...

It should go 8.60s , maybe 8.50s ( air is good up there) and maybe at 160+ MPH ... If it doesn't then all the hype is bull shit ...Looks like he has it geared so it should 60 foot pretty good with a pro light weight jockey..

If it goes faster than 8.50s might be time to trade in the old zx14 ... lol...Not really , i like the TQ my zx14 makes and the BMW is not ever going to have that ..

With a pro jockey and all the trick mods (both weight saving), which is the big key here...that will be an 8.60 bike at 165+ mph. Not a bike for the "Average Joe"....
There are high 7sec Prostreet bikes forsale at the price this bike Brock has put together..

I agree 100% .... sure you can make a liter bike fast but changing clutches at the track is something i don't want to do ...I seen the liter bike guys do this very week at the track , one guy we know guy changes his after every pass ...Screw that shit ...

I would expect it to go 8.60's which, well stock motored 9 over 14's can do that with average riders. We will have to wait and see.
