well we were looking for 200 or more on motor -- well we didn't get it -- we didn't get close --

some info on the bike.

THis motor was in my top gas car tire bike -- its basically stock bore / stroke/ cams -- it has our port work and +1mm valves with JE nos pistons - pulled it out when I sold my chassis -- we went through the motor mid last season when we had a few minor problems -- then we pulled hte head on it and did a little more porting then droppped the pan -- all was good so back together it went and into the streetbike.

Well it ran the first night out great -- 5.90 @119 with me tipping the scales at 245 so I though it was good for the first time out.
The next night out it slowed and slowed then the battery went dead so I figured it was due to voltage and junk battery.

the following weeks I installed a tail section, a new battery and wired in some NOS and on to the DYNO

1st pull after warming the bike up -- it sounded great but only made 135 HP -- wtf ? we did it again -- same thing-- --- we checked ignition rotor and a few other things -- then went to fire it back up -- dead! battery was dead again -- so we check wires, voltage etc.. charge it up - at idle 14.5 volts -- great lets do it. --- -then it got worse-- less HP and then the tire started jumping real bad on decel -- ryan thought it was weird we tried another pull and then when he let off the thottle it died --- we all sat dumbfounded and then turned the key on and starter wouldn't do anything -- we loaded up and drove home.

got to the shop and after the ride figured something was binding the motor down maybe tranny bearing? NOPE - we pulled it apart -- #2 #3 #4 RODS and bearings were trashed , #` rodbearings were on the way out. 2 3 and 4 rods were black and looked like they were very close to breaking -- we got it off before anymore damage happened as the cylinder, pistons, head/valves were all good.

Man that sucks!! I wil post some carnage pics tomorrow.

yeah we checked them everytime and they always looked good -- we didn't make that many runs (under 15 probably) when we pulled it to sell the chassis so we only looked in the pan for gremlins but oil looked good so we just put it back as is.

Not sure if this is a problem that just popped up or was just slowly getting worse from all the BS with the dragbike not running -- we found out it had a bad coil after all the headaches so maybe it was firing at the wrong time and everything was out of sync -- the 5.90 pass was actually my first all out pass on this motor in 2 years maybe that was just enough to eat them up but we are not 100% sure --- I also started running Motul 300V in it this year -- so not sure if that had anything to do with it. We are cleaning things up today and will do some inspecting and hopefully we will find somehting
