I am going to install a second fan and a manual switch. I switched over to Engine Ice and it definitely worked very well at first, but seems to lose some of it's effectiveness after a little bit of time much like Water Wetter. But it still seems to be better than just water or water/antifreeze.

I put a second fan in wired manually to the unused 4 way switch, otherwise auto with a relay. Then did the 10 fender which did work very well. Then went back to the stock fender cuz it looks better for me. Ive never had my bike get too hot. I just fell into the hype of staring at the idiot gauge. power produces heat. This thing isnt a goldwing. make it sweat. Put big orange dots on your side fairings?

My Red and my dad's blue haven't been close to overheating since they were brand new.
Now my Red runs at Half when it's cool out or one bar over half when it's hot out.
The Blue runs at one bar over half all the time no matter what the outside temp is.

That zx fender idea is nothing more than a load of crap.there is no way that fender will do anything for your cooling other then look ugly and to small for a 14.Where and how does this kinda thing get started with no proof of same day same traffic proof.

Do us a favor... zip tie a piece of card board to the front of your radiator and ride it around and see if it runs hotter. Same concept. Rather than running your fucking mouth all the time, why don't you try using a little common sense? More airflow through the radiator equals cooler temperatures. Less airflow through the radiator equals hotter temperatures. It's the same reason that air cooled engines run cooling fins on their cylinders, and computers have heat syncs on the processors with a fan blowing across them.

We give you a hard time about posting inaccurate information sometimes, but holy shit man. You've really outdone yourself this time.

The one downside to a zx-10 or similar fender, is that it doesn't channel the air around the bike, which will cause more drag at high speeds. That being said, Pat has been running without a fender for a long time now and hasn't seen any ill effect in the 1/4 mile. I would guess that it is significant in a top speed run, considering that there is MPH to be gained just from pulling the bar ends off or tucking your head down and to the side.

I've said it before and I'm sure I'll say it again... ZX14FAN, you're a fucking idiot.

I have the ZX-10 fender too. It lets more air into radiator and cools off faster when moving. Unless you are stuck in Stop and Go traffic for a hour, then a second ZX-14 fan Is The Cure.

The Connie 14 has two fans. I live in Texas, plenty Hot is summer. Almost 8,000 miles
so far no over heating problems with just One fan and and ZX-10 fender. I freaked out too
at first when 14 was new. But I do not do going to work traffic.

The smaller fender allows a Lot more air pass thru radiator when moving slow in traffic.
I have a Carbon Fiber ZX-10 fender with Dubious brackets.they work great.

The 2nd fan is definitely the trick for cooler engine temps in traffic -- the zx10 fender would probably be effective as long as you stay moving, but for $45 I'll stick with the fan -- it's proven to work well in the heat sitting stationary.............just seems logical to me, that's why I can't understand why Kaw didn't fit the 14 with 2 fans from the factory?

Did you reverse the the second fan brace and reinstall the fan motor? To mount it. Or was it the other way?/ :-)
