Are you looking to save weight for dragstrip? or are you a twisty track fiend wanting an upgrade? If it's for drag, I'd just remove it. I've been riding street for almost 20 years and can't remember ever changing a rear padset or rotor -- never use it personally

I've always used the engine to help scrub speed when I need to stop hard, but that's more twisty track style riding. Not sure if you're running a lock up clutch or exactly how they work, or if it depends on your setup to be able to downshift hard enough to really help stop you -- I had a slipper clutch on my last bike -- took some getting used to but definitely decreased my braking distance when I needed it.

I would never remove the rear rotor. Maybe one front, but not the rear. A lot of tracks make you have a rear brake, especially AMA dragbike and at events as such.

I have been thinking about sending my rear rotor to these guys. A couple buddies of mine have used them and they do really good work. They will lighten your rear rotor for less than $100.

Yes it settles the rear when applies lightly through a turn but it doesn't need to be as big as the front rotor lol.

If you haven't changed out the factory brake lines for some braided Spieglers or other aftermarket, it will definitely help give you some more braking power too -- I plan on changing out all of mine this year just for the ease of control. Takes less pull to get the same brake effect with the braided lines.
