Instant Mileage
I know that the Instant Mileage function is not necessarily the most accurate thing in the world. But, do you think the cops will understand I am trying to get better mileage by cruising at 80 because that shows I am getting about 40 mpg or so ?

I use 17/40 for top speed runs, best of 205, and it stays that way between meetings. It's fine for road riding, mpg on the road is hardly any different, although I've seen it drop into single figures at the track. Launching is easy, I tried some standing quarters at a recent meeting, foot shifting, stock wheelbase and easily got into the nines with a best of 9.84. Considering my seat time for quarters has been almost zero recently it says a lot for the bike.

Wow your getting 45 MPG. I'm about as conservative a rider there is on the Hwy and the best I ever recorded was 44 and that was with the wind to my back and about a real 75 MPH for 3 hours. Guess it's true that Kawasaki is making the new ZX-14 cleaner and better MPG. Still going from 40 to 50 MPG takes a lot of technology. Best I MPG my VFR got was 56 only once. The VFR has half the motor of the Kaw.

remember folks, this is "internet MPG" haha, actual results may vary
my C14 withg the map mode in "economy" gets around 42-44. Thats at 80 MPHcruising speed actual (GPS) and an extra large Cee Bailey's windscreen. I'n not complaining.

That mpg is only when I'm riding solo . I'm only 160lbs though. When 2 up the instant drops to like 38-36 mpg.

I don't care, I don't ride a sportbike for mpg. My mpg is directly linked to my right hand and it's not a good number.
