Slvr Blt

Slvr Blt it sounds like you need to dissabble your can and see if someone has removed the packing from it or that it has deterated away. The reason I say this is my Muzzy is quiet as a church mouse, and my shorty is reasonably quiet. Seems one or the other must be wrong with your muffler. Hope this helps you.

The previous owner just installed this 7 months ago, do they wear away that fast? The bike barely had 3400 miles when i got it.

Well there is no specified intervals from muzzy.Yosh recommends 7-10k miles.
But i'd repack when it starts to get loud.

Repack if carbon Fiber, other wise Ride it :-) the deacell flame out the back is hard on carbon fiber and the packing. I use a TRE and a Muzzy advancer to stop deacell pop and Not lose HP and use a Ivans map as this is how he dyno mapped the systems he sells for Street Use. Drag Rcers here like the flame out the back no big deal unless you have carbon silencers then after a while they turn color and get brittle. Brock sells a TRE too. :-)
