Lithium Battery Feedback

Hey, those of you that have bought one of those lithium batteries off Sir Dubious, how is it holding up for you? I will describe my experiences thus far.

First day i had it installed it was a bit colder outside and i did not know about the warming procedure so from running my air compressor for awhile to check air leaks on the air shifter system, it was dead. By awhile i will say maybe a half hour total off/on cycles.

After the first instance it has been fine, until recently. Lately the first start will be JUST FINE, and then i will ride somewhere, probably 10-15 miles away from my house, and then the bike will struggle to start. Keep in mind this is in 70+degree weather!! What gives?? Im not sure. I have no additional addons the bike can get drained from. so this struck me as rather odd. Also everytime it does this it resets my cluster, so my time, trip, clock, shif light all gets turned off and reset!! OOOh this urkes me greatly.

Has anyone else experienced these issues or anything like that? All in all i think its a damn good battery for the price. Just seems its a bit tempermental when it wants to start acting up!

Cheers Fellas!

Whats your voltage show when its weak compared to strong?
ahh fuck it, who cares, just send it to me and I will refund you

I've had it with people who would rather bitch than Talk to me, and then they come out an finnally state they are running increased compression, or advanced ignition, loose connections or whatever.

Charge the battery per instructions and Do Not run the compressor so long. All will be fine.

Next time call the person you purchased it from First. It makes the product and the seller look bad.

Lyle is just a broker - if in fact there is an issue with the battery, dont blame him. Just
let him know whats happening and he is a good enough guy that he'll take care of it
for you.

Lyle did the leg work to find a battery like the speed-cell at a lessor cost - "thats all"
It's too bad your having trouble but I know it can be taken care of.

Often, when we mod our bike . . . . . "shit happens" . . . . but we learn, correct and
move on !

Does the lithium battery require a special charger Lyle?

no, but a car charger works allot better than a trickle charger.

Im hit mine with 20-50 amps, but my auto charger senses battarey charge and capacity and reduces the charge as it gets closer to being complete. The chjeap 50 amp "might burn something", so I just advise 10 amps.
I pulled my vmax out of my trailer last week after sitting in -40, and for 7 months and it fired instantly.
They only lose about 10% charge sitting for an entire year, will not freeze, or boil over, and will likely outlast the life of your bike.

I have had ZERO problems with mine or any ogf the ones i have installed for people.

The people with problems are the ones that are not being reasonable and asking more of it than their stock battery for output or reserve capacity, or have poor connections, or temps below 60F.

I had another guy want one for his zx12 with 1280 kit.
He said it was a standard 1280 with 13:1.

after the 5amp didn;t work he called and asked to upgrade, and thats when I found out he was running a motor built by Doug Meyer with no base gasket, .030" PTV clearance, and advanced timing, increased lift, with stock duration cams.

He was running about equaivalent to 14.5:1 then add the high lift tight cams, its no wonder.
That deal cost me money to fix, because the owner wanted to "test" my batteries and push the envelope, or save $50.

this shit really urkes me.

What's the thread on these ecno speedcells called I would like to loose that weight and have the room to store a few items. Seems I now have. Atire kit with me since a fellow boarder put a hex on me a few months back and I just know I will now have a flat after all these years.

have a Good product but drop the ball on Tech Support. Been there for many years.

Trying explaining on the phone why a exhaust and jet kit is not running smooth....... sigh.

Or the mid pipe is burning the lower fairing.......... uh read the instructions. Waiting on my stock battery to die then I will be purchaseing yet another part from you Lyle :-)

Lyle,

Don't let the haters get you down. You have been around long enough on the board and your work efforts speak for themselves. We all know you are a stand up guy!! Thanks for all you do for all of us. The ZX14 adapters are great and I'm sure the batteries are great also...I will be purchasing one when I pull my bike out of the garage next month.

Thanks again,

Red1

Six no one was jumping on you bro. We were just saying its better to go to the horses ass oops, sorry Dubious I couldn't help my-self,mouth, so as not to get misaiinformation out there. Some people will twist it all up just to stir controversy. I personally base a lot of what i believe on post count here. Dubious Smokin 4hane and others that have put in work here have my respect and trust. If for example Smokin says the wynns injector cleener works and make 3 hp across the board I believe him, because he has prover his cred to many times. Hope I didn't offend Six that was not my intention at all.
