Anyone running noise reduction plug on a alienhead?

On a Brocks alienhead or at least heard one compared to stock? I've read they work better on the smeg but I have the alienhead and haven't heard if it's better on it. I'm not worried about the power loss. I'm needing it so I don't piss the neighbors off too much when the beast fires up in the morning. Of course on the weekends it's coming out.

Got the Smeg with one in it myself.........at idle it helps the most, and as long as you keep low rev's it does it's job pretty well.......but as soon as you crack wot, its like its not even there. It's not intended to cure the loud problem, just help keep it down as long as you do. should be about a 10db reduction.

Quieting the AH is just a bad idea. It's a race baffle. The plug only takes it down a few db and makes it sound like a vw. There's not enough length or packing to tame the monster. I know it sounds retarded, but I sawzalled the stock pipe off at the right length to meet the header. It bolts in 2 places so it's mounted good. I flared the end a bit and it fits inside the header and doesnt leak. it gives a silent approach for the weekday commute and some use for pipes that were destined for the scrap heap. It changes out in minutes. Just an idea.

I also hacked the left pipe down as a test run before tackling the right one. yes it's louder. and yes it sounds like crap. just working the metal so far.

Thanks for the pics, good idea. I have yet to ride with a Brock piped bike, but the smeg and alienhead must be obnoxiously loud on long rides. My Muzzy shorty is reasonably quiet at only 12" long. I suspect the reason is it stops at the back of the bike and not under it.

HUb welded muffler bearings on the back of his stock mufflers to mess with people. he has done a mod so the center with the bearing pulls out guts.... open straight pipe??

Not sure how well this works but you never know if Hub/peasear/Speedgene is for

"Real" on the performance mod.......... :-)
