PC V Info ,Good news?
We only "officially" support the Power Commander V on 2009 and later model year bikes. If the newer model year bikes are essentially the same as their predecessor I see no reason the PCV would not retrofit back to earlier years.
Let me know if you have any further questions.

Besides being physically smaller, is there any real benefit for guys who already have a PCIII to switch to PC V? The only intriguing part about the PC V i saw was the auto tune, and that map swappable LCD display.

no need for a 9v battery , usb powers the pcv .
the pcv stores 2 maps , switchable via a external switch
and autotune is a plus if you know how to make good use of it.
the only thing I dont like is that there is no data logging .. add that and it would be great

I guess I can put it on my 08? Unless there is a major difference between 8 and 9?

I would have gone with a pcv if they had been available when I bought my pc111. I would love to have two maps in there without having to use the usb to do so. I don't think it would be worth swaping now though as I have a laptop now so changes are really easy now.

It still only controls the primary's, you have to buy another part to run the secondaries (injectors) and you have to know what a/f you want before it will self map. The bazzaz box does all this and is cheaper once you look at all it does and the MSD SB6 even data logs! Just something to throw out there so we can get the best bang for the buck. Iove P/c but they make you spend too much money to do ev everything the other systems do.

2006 to 2010 = The 14 is an exact copy of itself since day one. No fuel injection parts have changed on the 2009. Any year PCIII or PCV will wire up to the same components of a 2009.
If you have any further questions, don't call me, I'll call you.

there are no secondary injectors on the zx14
the PC5 has more finite RPM rows, allowing better low rpm tunability
it will retro fit back to 06, they didn't want to tell us that when they released the new PCV, as they ahd a bunch of PC3 stock that was not sold

Dubious would the low speed driveability be noticeable to the adverage person from the saddle in your opinion?

So you're telling me that I could have purchased a PC V and was told that it wouldn't work on my bike so I bought a PC III? If this is the case then I feel duped....

Yup... I feel duped... I made the mistake of asking the manufacturer and trusting the information I was given. I had no idea what the PC V looked like and was told the connectors wouldn't fit. Only to find out now that I was given this information was because they had a surplus of the old item in stock that they were trying to dump...
NICE!...

In the real world ones just as good as the other and you likely paid alot less.
Nobody is trimming the fuel for each cylinder, or gear as far as I know, its not worth the effort to gain 1 hp, if you luck out and get it right with the ram air.
The auto tune was supposed to be the hot ticket, but as Smokin has said, it was not.
I found the same issue with the autotune for bazzaz on the zx10 I tuned. The map changed all the time and with the o2 sensor temp, i guess those devices would work better if you ran the bike up to temp, then connected the wires and began tuning onlty when the bung is already hot.
O2 sensors are very sensitive to temps, they work better with more complex ECU's on cars that do not read, log or make changes to fuel until the CHT is up to temp.

Someone with some knowledge on the subject can maybe look into it and see if you can switch the Autotune on only after the bike is warmed up?

I think it can be set at any temp that you would like it to start sampling.
