I ran my best times last night but I need a little help please

I actually got a chance to head out to the track last night and although I only got in 3 passes, I did manage to pull a 9.74 @ 145.97mph (6.41 @ 118.6 in the 1/8th). I was really pleased with that but here's the problem.

I noticed on all 3 passes that I'm hitting the rev limiter about 50-75 feet before the finish line. I'm crossing the finish in the top of 4th gear, foot shifting.

I'm pretty sure that I can slip into the 9.60's or better with a gearing adjustment but where to go with this is the question. Right now, I'm running a 16/41 combo. I was contemplating a 17/43 or 42.

I'd like to still cross the line in 4th gear being that I'm foot shifting and at SWB.

Ideas ?

BTW, I weigh in at 195lbs, the bike is lowered 3/4" front , 1.5" rear and in a Pilot Road II, I cutting low 1.70's in the 60' with no traction problems.

I have a 17-43 combo and am in 3rd in the eighth mile,so I am sure you will be in fourth juut not sure if you will be close enough to redline for the best et. I was at an eigth mile track or I could be more helpful. I did run 6.4s with that gearing combo set up very close to yours, but about 30lbs heavier.we both need the radial strap kit it seems.

But what is your MPH and do you have a rev extender or anything similar? It seems as if 145mph is just shy of the limiter in my application.

Did anyone post a gearing / MPH chart at sometime? I did use the search function, but I didn't come back with very much.

Because for 50-75 feet of track left, wouldn't that be a waste of time? Remember, I'm foot shifting.

any time spent on the limiter is a waste of time, and potentially damaging

I would just drop a tooth in the rear if you are that close to the end. I think it would be perfect and if you learn to really get at it I think you would probaly run out of gear alot sooner.
