Underbracing

I am getting a new swing arm made as well folks. My mechanic is not running under bracing on his but I am down right scared to ride without it. I have witnessed an accident from the arm giving causing the bike to flip. Word is if you are under 300 horses, you are completly safe. How true is this. I know he is tedious with saving weight but saftey first is in my book. I am 117lbs now. I think I can compensate for that little weight on the arm.

I think it really depends on arm design shape and the length of the arm and its material its made of, some arms don't really require extensive bracing. There are too many factors like metal wall thickness as well to consider. without looking at a blueprint with material intentions its kinda of hard to say whether it needs it or not.

If you only weigh 117, I'd do it simply for peace of mind. Funny how trust issues can affect how hard you ride

The arm is an evil arm. As for the top drag racers, Rickey Gadson is around 170lbs, Richard is around 140lbs, darion payne (nanu) is around 135 to 140, Jeremy teasley is like 110 suited, Dustin Jr is 170lbs, so average is around 160lbs. Travis Wood is like 160, Ashon Dickerson is in the 170 class, Jeremy Rossi is somewhere around the 150 I would say, I think Lee (smokinzx14) is about 140, Lee from Lee's performance is around 150,

I think you'll be OK without it if you are 70" or less, but peace of mind is priceless.
I think TQ not HP put the pressure on them.
I'm 300+lb 68" adams arm no bracing pulling power wheelies off the line( due to gearing=TQ) with no problems to report.

It depends on which arm you get...

The big name brand arms dont need them unless your running a turbo, but they will be glad to put it on for you since they make more $$$ off you

Coby Adams StrongArm is a perfect example...You think he would risk his business & sell a arm that will bend???
