Copper plugs are often preferred for nitrous guys, they don't last as long, but good for nos guys, it was also known that the copper plugs produce more power but just has a shorter service life and higher voltage requirements. In the car world the concesus was that if preignition (detonation) during nitrous injection were to happen it would melt the softer copper plugs and extinguish the spark before it would cause any further damage to the motor. Honestly at the point of melting copper id think you're already in trouble but, from what i read that is the reason. Its was advised to run colder copper plugs for nitrous applications.
