Spark plug problem .. Fouled plugs ..
As some of you allready know i had a problem at the drag strip last night .. My bike started dropping clyinders ( missing ) at low RPMs ...I felt it was a spark plug problem ...But what caused the plug problem ?..
Here is what i found ...The Autotune part of my PVC was adding 20% to 30% fuel in the bottom numbers of Brocks track map ... No way does Brocks track map need to be 30% richer at 1500 RPMs .. The top of the map didn't see any changes from the Autotune ..For some reason the Autotune is flooding the lower cells with tons of fuel and killing my plugs ..The more i run it the worse it gets .. I reinstalled the track map as it came from Brocks and turned OFF the Autotune .. So now i'm running Brocks track map without the Autotune turned on and all is well ..
I have been doing some reading at other bike forums.. What i have found is i'm not alone .. Others have install a good base map and the bike ran fine but when the Autotune was turned on the bike starts to run rich and drop clyinders .. In a few bikes it got so bad the bike has stalled at idle ..Removing the the Autotune and reinstalling the base map fixed the problem .. I don't fully undersatnd why this is happening but for now the Autotune will stay OFF . ... This is not a problem in the PVC as it works good just like the old PCIII USB , this is a problem with the add on Autotune unit ..
If anyone else has had this type of problem please post about it ..

Do you think that the 02 sensor could be getting fooled by a low rpm reversion issue? I have seen some odd results depending on the location of the bung, and the flow characteristics of the pipe.
My Muzzy Pro-Pipe can show some odd numbers at low rpm/idle, and the bung is also halfway up the midpipe (like the CT I had).

have you run any leaded fuel and it may have taken out the 02 sensor .. i don't think there's a recalibrate feature on the pcv.. do you know if the 02 sensor on the bike reads what your dyno sniffer reads

dont know about the autotune but i have a motty (it is about the same) i have to program the engine temp. i set mine to autotune between 160 to 210F,if the temp is set to low say 100F the auto tune will build a rich map at low rpm (the motty is like that).

Allready looked at that .. The 02 sensor reads the same as my dyno 02 ... I have never run anything but 87 pump gas ..

Very possible ... I'm sure the 02 would be a better signal if it were close to the head ..My new CT pipe has the 02 placed in the same place as my Smeg half way up the mid pipe ....

Yes i can see that as a problem ... I use my bike as a drag bike so it never runs for very long ..

02 sensor is brand new and tested good.. Well within spec ..

I'm not going to worry about fixing the problem with the Autotune .. I can use a known good map from Brocks and tune if needed they way we have been doing it for years ...( tune at the track using MPH )
