27,500 miles on Muzzy Stage One
Still has the same oil return pump. Dead reliable so far, stock motor, does not use oil. It is in full street trim, weighs 543 wet with 2 gallons of 112 octane race gas. About one mph difference from pump 91 octane. 36,500 miles total on the 14. Drag strip is only good when the big guys show up when the track is prepared proper. Then it is wheelie time. Wilson, (Friend girl named it), is a street/road bike that dabbles on the track. No trailer or pit to speak of, best time at corrected altitude 5k feet, was only 9.45 @ 150.6 mph with a rider with nowhere the talent of Smoking 14 or the weight. The 14 is the best bike out of 39 now that I have owned. Still love the Triumph Tiger 1973 but it is a buggy whip compared to Wilson.

" Wilson" I like that name ...27k with no problems , that is great news.. I'm glad it has worked out for you so well ... I wonder if you can make 100K ? That would be some kind of record for sure ..

sounds good i sure hope my motor will last this season lol and that 9.45@150 is not to bad at all for a bike that has 36,500 miles on it
Also how much boost is it on and is there any timing pulled and what kinda power is it making sounds like 250ish to me

With out many drag strip passes I think turbo bikes are capable of lots of miles as they are really not undser any added stress at highway speeds.

Dennis had only a few miles on his turbo 500 hp Busa and burned a bearing on the Salt Flats making only 199 mph. More stress, more wear. That is a constant in physics but for a road bike I can't even begin to use the power available. I do know that it will survive 10 minutes at WOT on the Salt Lake Motorsports dyno tuned by Matt Spencer. They are the local Ducati dealer.

About 12-1 at all ranges. But it is only 250 rwhp and stock is about 170 so not that much stress on the motor or design.

mine work fine as a road bike too 30k miles .. but when i went to the track and made 20 to 30 passes in a night .you find out turbo isn't ideal for that . and after 600 passes and 4 motors i'm finish with turbo.
i went thru 3 of the oil pumps also

30 passes in one night? were you cooling it down between passes or hot lapping it? did your turbo not hold up or your motor? and what kind of oil pumps were you using?

yes sometimes 30 passes in a night ..i tried not to hot lap it .. but there was times i would make 3 to 4 passes in a row .. then 15 to 30 minutes before next round .. i would enter more than 1 class .. 9.50 and street et .. turbo held up flawless can't say the same for #4 piston on motor .. the oil pump i don't know brand name but it came with the kit and i reorder from cyclelogic every time i installed my spare 90.50 ea.
this was cool weather time racing ..not 105 degree summer days

We will be there trying to deal with thunderstorms, oiled tracks, and horrible hot temps. Night of Fire is the only time you can adjust for track conditions when you can barely get in 4 runs. Hot lap at RMR? that's a joke.

Oil is the key, if you use 20-50 wt without warm up you are toast .I Always use 10-40 for the Gerotor pump that likes to cavitate on heavy oils. Full warm up with 10-40 to at least the third bar is fair good to go. Suspect that that is still too heavy for flow to the bearings. The hotter it is the faster is runs.( Not another oil thread please). The Zook riders in this area love 20-50 and they burn bearings without warm up on a regular basis. They are very fast but not for very long. Love my street/road bike that is dead reliable. Hope I don't get caught up in who is the best and lose the most sweet /sick bike that I have ever owned. On the other hand, this 60 year old fart will try to make 100K on a cruiser ZX-14 turbo.

true. i'm hoping that the resurfacing they did on the track this year will help. the down side is that its still gonna take forever for rubber to get laid down on the new surface with all the street tires tearing it back up again
