I am about 175/180 suited I think. I will have to see what the bike and I weigh together the next time I am at the track.

Seat time seat time seat time. Work on what you are doing and improving your skills that are lacking. I know I'll be quicker in the fall after getting more seat time this spring, summer. I have not gottem much seat time on this bike yet...still getting used to it and getting the power down earlier. It'll get there.

didn't say it would be an easy task....hell, a busa motor has been done a few times now...that would still be a hoot!

QP,
I like your ambission, I'm glad you got into to the 5's. I'm chasing your numbers this year at SWB. What RPM are you shifting at ? For the past 4years I've shifting at 11K. Something tells me I should have been shifting around 10,3~10,5....

11k...I lose about tenth if I short shift it at that RPM. I'd actually like to shift a little higher to see but, with a stock ECM I am stuck at 11k.

9.19, 9.20 and pretty much low 9.2s. The 1.53 60' I threw away with a missed shift on the limiter. Easily would have been low teens pass. Rest of these times are mid 1.5s 60'.
I don't have the time (active duty military) or resources to run SS. Besides, I just drag for fun (I'm almost 42 for cryin out loud). I have the most fun on TnT days where I get a ton of passes and hangin out with the folks at the track. The day it all gets too serious and it's no fun...I'll find something else to do.

because it's more fun to outride someone on a "slower" bike. I loved my ZRX. Would still have it but sold it in 06 for some eye surgery instead. I can't tell you the number of bikes I trailered with my ZRX...wasn't the fastest, but it was dead consistant and just fast enough if you made a mistake you would not run me down. I'd usually tree you and 60' you...to leave you hoping you could run me down. That bike was a blast. I get any where near my consistancy on this bike I did on that one...I'll be tough to beat. Not beatable, but I'll at least make you work for it.

It's more fun beating people on a slower bike. Like QP said, if I can cut a light and out 60' foot the next guy he's going to play hell to get around me. If that person just out pulls me on the top end because they have more power, did they beat me or did the bike? Any body can have a big HP bike and pull past someone on top end. It's a racer that wipps that ass off the line and jumps out front! I'm sure a 14 will be in my near future. But for now I enjoy building and making more power from this oil girl. Unless I take her 100% full race, she's about maxed out for now. Working on the jetting tonight. Getting it close. All I can say is she's one bad bitch!

Sounds fun, I would love to get together with the fellas from the site and have a good track day.... It would get me motivated to fire my bike up and make some changes. There are some more guys who come on here who are real fast...
So far from this forum the only people I've met at a track while racing out of town are Stu and Bently. Both of whom are great guys and racers.. I also race with Ambull, and Kaw Rick, who is the local bully who beats up on all us in St. Louis....j/k Rick is a good dude....
