CF Wheel

I'm seriously considering a CF rear wheel. Unfortunately, this would also require a rear sprocket with a bolt pattern unique to the wheel. I'm concerned that I will have to go through a few sprockets until I find the best one (number of teeth) for 1/4 mile racing based on my bike set up.
Does anyone on the board currently run a BST rear and have various sizes of rear sprockets? Anyone interested in trading?
I've already got quite a selection of sprockets for the stock wheel and would rather not have to spend that much more again experimenting for the CF wheel.
Thanks

Most of the benefit is in going to be in the rear wheel. I have 5 or 6 sprockets, but since I do LSR and 1/4 mile, I need them all. To be honest, I wouldn't buy them strictly as a performance part; there are much better places to spend your money in that regard.

That being said, I love the wheels and wouldn't trade them off. A lot of guys are always asking me if they are worth the money. I think that is a very subjective question to answer. At the same time, I haven't heard of many guys who would turn them down if they were free.

I'm 235lbs unsuited - I was making passes in the 9.3's last season on a dead stock motor - not trying to be an ego asshole, but I think I can ride the bike well enough that looking for some performance mods is in order.

I think what a lot of ppl are saying is that there are a lot of things you can do first to give you much lower et's before getting uber trick wheels. I would love to get some carrozzaria's (sp), but I also want those because I think they make the bike look COOOOOL. So, if you want a lower et, and that's all that you care about, get other things, but if you want cool looks and a little performance, get the wheels.

What I was trying to say is max out what you have and find a setup that works. Then you will know what sprocket to install on new wheels. The sprocket size is not going to change just because your installing a lighter wheel.

No offence to your ego but I weigh 210 unsuited and when I run a full tank of fuel that evens us out. I run mid to high 9teens at 765lbs. What I'm saying is, you have a bit more room for improvement without high dollar mods. Dont take it wrong, I am not trying to smartass you at all. As a matter of fact I still have more to go myself...

Now, Now lets all put our cocks away. Shane made the only point that mattered. What difference does it make what wheel you have on the bike as far as the size spockets you run? If you like the CF wheel for the rear which is actually smart from a ballast standpoint buy the damn thing and if you like the gearing that got you a 9.30 run the same gear.

I think its a good way to go faster, its dynamic weight, any weight taken off a moving mass is worth considerable gains in acceleration, braking and overall suspension performance. The back wheel weighs something like 22lbs, the CF wheels weighs less then 10lbs rear, the fronts are about half of OEM weight as well. If you can afford it go for it, it wont hurt performance one bit, not to mention it looks kick ass. I read somewhere each pound lost off moving mass is worth something like 2.7hp worth. I been looking for some light weight wheels to, but i wont go as far as carbon fiber, too rich for my blood.

I think it would be a great idea leaving the stock wheel up front for weight purposes. Chris Jones put the factory front wheel back on his Super Street 14 last year half way through the season to help prevent wheelies. If I had the loose cash I would put one on the rear but of course it would not be a mod that I would do and expect to see big gains. I would do after I had done everything else.

Agreed, wheels are the last things on my list, next up for me to suspension work. Them Ohlins forks and shock is making me drool.
