ZX10 Fender
Well, my front fender arrived today along with Dubious's brackets - thanks again DCJENS.
I am very impressed with the difference it makes in the engine temperature. Keeping in mind it is still cool here, but having gone for a ride a few nights before the fender arrived and was installed it is running cooler. I hope this remains true once it gets warmer.
Very nice upgrade...

Hey, How about doing a lil'testing? If you would... get a cheap thermometer, say from radioshack, with remote pickup. Install the pickup behind the radiator and put the readout up where you can see it while riding: test 1 still having the 14 fender on, and ride about making a few notations on temp on freeway at a static speed, and maybe at stop light. then test 2 with the 10 fender, same conditions.
I'd really like to see the temp differences.
I recall doing that sorta thing on the M 109 with temp differences between the various AI's. Interesting findings.

ZX14fan,
The proof is that the temperature gauge is running one bar less than the previous two days. After taking the stock front fender off you get to see how huge that thing is and realize how much air that is not getting into the radiator until you put the 10 fender on. More air means more cooling.

I'd love a zx10 fender for my 14 just for the added cooling, and I think it's asthetically more appealing than the big bulky stock fender too. I'm keeping my eyes peeled for a good deal on one for now.

Looks like alot more room for rocks to kill the radiator. They built that fender that way for a reason. The zx 10 fender really looks to small for the bike.

why I switched back to stock fender. Several of you have taken nice pics and it just caught me. It's cooler running for sure but I have 2 fans so it was a bit overkill for this area. After having the 10 fender for awhile...I just like the stock one better now. I just ignore the gauge. Ive never seen it too hot even in the desert. I feel too cool might not be good for performance. just my opinion.. to each his own.

any fool can see that the stock fender was designed to throw the air out around the fairing at speed. The zx10 fender allows air to pass into the rad.
If there is no airflow ( parked at lights) it won't help, but once you get moving the bike will cool off quicker, and will be cooler before you stop.
If the bike is running under load, at speed it will run cooler.
It will actually allow the thermostat to modulate rather than staying wide open.
The stock exhaust is a huge problem as well. Its designed to create backpressure and associated heat builds up in the motor.
even DCjens, who sold his says it ran cooler, but he went to 2 fans and likes the stockm fender.
The only advantage the zx14 fender has is absolute aerodynamics, otherwise the zx10 would have a big fugly beek too!
do what you like.
I don't understand why some people like to smash assholes over this stuff..
do it or don't , nobody cares what you do.
if your gonna bash, you should bash the busa's or harleys, not your own.
In fact you should bash anti motorcyclists first, as even the other biker guys are on our side in the end.
I'm not gonna waste my time trying to sell something you don't want.
In fact I'd rather not deal with dissatisified people anyway. so please, if you have a problem with life, don't make it mine and just stay away.
to those who have supported mine and the efforts of others trying to make our bikes better,
thank you
.
Bike looks good David!

I found this to be very true. I put the 10 fender on and did the 2 fan install the next weekend. The fans rarely turned on because of the increased airflow, period. The 10 fender mod with Dubious' brackets are a great easy project. The color match is exact in most cases. those that have used the CF fender all look very nice! This mod has my support.

I caught a small rock with the stock fender, so actually I think everyone should be running cox radiator screen, or kawi should have supplied a rad screen,.... coolant on the tires is not good....
