Jesse got a little more power

Well since all the BS from the last thread Lee decided not to post up any more dyno charts. We were quite happy with the results today so I say Fuk it. 93 pump, 5 angle valve job, .020" shaved, CT exhaust. The bike was still pulling when it hit the limiter!

Tommy did a test spin on the bike and said it's pulling like mad ... He hit second gear and while in a wheely in second gear the chain come off .. The bolt for the rear axle adjuster bent into an S shape and the axle jumped forward tossing the chain off ..It didn't hurt any parts other that the Adjuster bolt ..Well Tommys Nuts did get some damage when the bike came slaming down....

wow.... talk about a fluke. hope nothing was badly damaged. so you are attributing this to a bad bolt? any pics of the failure? how far does the bolt stick out with that gearing?

No damage that we can see other than the bolt ... The axle is all the way to the back of the swing arm slot , so the bolt is pretty far out ... It could have been a bad bolt because Jesse lost the factory bolts some time ago .. Jesse put the bike back to stock wheel base so i really don't know what grade of bolts he used ... I put a factory kawi adjuster bolt back in it and made sure the axle was extra tight ..

I had a similar problem, went to ace hardware bought case harden grade 8 bolts with less thread & more shank, no more problems in two years.

Well i will have to ask Jesse what the head work cost but i'm thinking he said 200.00 ... The head gasket was 50.00 bucks .Adjustable cam gears about 35.00 bucks ..I will have to set down and count my hours for the Motor R&R , R&R the head , setting the valves and cam timming.. If you can do the labor yourself you would be out less than 300.00 bucks ....300.00 bucks for 13 HP is a good bang for your dollar ..

Your right smoking that is some good power for 300.00. depending on what you would charge for your part it could still be cheap hp.

Those are fantastic results. The way it pulls to the limiter looks great. From all of the talk of how bad the 14 head is, it seems to flow pretty darn good with just a good valve job
