now that you mention it, i think i had a bit of an issue getting mine to line back up as well...just have to give it some positive encouragement :-) meaning i just had to push and pull it back to get it into place.

are the push tabs on both sides fully engaged on the bottom of the piece? you kind of have to reach under to hold it from the back while pushing on the outside to get them all the way in. the plastic just bends if you only push from the outside. just a thought, mine used to give me hell but now i got it...

yes they are...it seems like the upper push tab on the one side does not want to go in all the way....it will when I take it all off but once I start pushing things together on both sides it all goes to hell rather quickly...something is just not quite right on the left side and there is nothing visually I can see that is cause it. I have had it on and off 6-7 times now and it's better but not by much. Any other thoughts?

FIGURED IT OUT!
The upper push tab on the right side does not seem to seat all the way. I suspect the rubber is a little worn and not as tight as it used to be...kinda like a women who has given birth or had sex with ray j....LOL
Does anyone have a part number on that piece?
Also my wellnut that holds the inner side panels on next to the speedometer seems to have gone by by.
Does anyone have a part number on that?
ahhhhhh.....the journey continues for fairing perfection.

When i was at the dealer it appears to be a factory fit issue as all the Kawi's 14s i saw in their stock had the same gap issue. i think out of 12 ZX14s in there i saw 2 that was close to perfect. Mine is the same way, the right side one has a bigger gap then the left. I can actually see the tabs from the gap. Some parts of this bike has a really crappy fit n finish.

Have you activated the flux capicitor
yet? Usually the forces imposed on the 14 while bending space & time keep all the plastics tight
