Inspection ?
I got my K9 Gixxer 1000 inspected today, told the guy I needed a sticker, he asked for the key, said he had to drive it and check the brakes. I told him no he cant drive it he can watch me stop on it, he denied a inspection sticker, ive been getting inspection stickers since 1974 and have never had someone want to ride my bike. so I took it to another station were he watched me stop checking the brakes and got the sticker.

I asked about this very thing last month and the inspector said that they can ask to ride the bike but they are liable if they drop it, no matter the reason. That is why it is common for them not to ride.

Geez what a load of shit! The guy just wanted to ride your bike. I actually took mine to the Harley dearlership that was close to my old house. It was funny watching all the maintenance guys come in to see what the loud race bike was. One of them said, "Sheeeit, that ain't no Harley!" The brilliance. Your a popular kinda dude, you should know plenty of folks that wouldn't give you a hard time.

Also in Texas, if the inspector requests to ride the bike you can ask to see his motorcycle endorsement. If he is not licensed to ride a bike he cannot ride test yours by law.

shut your mouth bob lol... you live in a state with tijuana tags everywhere and where you have to have smog done every 2 years. They also charge CA residents out the ass for inspection. I believe that my friend just had to pay like 250 bucks for his 1/2 ton truck.

An inspection fee in Texas is $14.50. I dont think they will ever do away with it here.

I attempted to get an inspection sticker for the 14 only once,
didn't get it- it had rained that morning and the guy refused to ride it in the wet as he was "supposed" to.
Don't have a sticker and will not even bother getting one for this season.

It is a Texas DOT thing you do every year. They check for insurance, lights, brakes, tires, etc. I am glad they do it though for the most part. The illegals would put wheels on anything around here..

Why cant they just look at the pads? Easy to see and you can tell if they hit the rotors ....shiny or rusty .

We only have to start getting inspections after the fifth year of the date the bike was produced.

They do the same inspection to cars also and it is required that they drive it. No getting around that one.
