airshifter mounting
alright just got an airshifter for the 14 and was wondering if any of you made your own mounts, this is what one person did " I use a 1/4" by 20 tap to thread the inside of that bolt. Then go to Lowes and get either a 2.5" or 3" allen head shoulder bolt to go in it and a couple of nuts. All it takes then is a spacer so you dont bind the air ram (I use old sockets, you can paint them to hide them)"
looking to see if any of you have done similar and have some feedback and suggestions

Sounds similar to my setup except I used metal brake line as the spacer. It covers the threaded rod very nice and is already black.

do you have any pics? so the general idea is to tap the inside of the bolt so you can screw the new on into it, us a nut to keep it from turning back out and use the brake line to keep the shifter from binding? sounds pretty simple to me

Orient Express sells one for $40. That's the cheapest I've seen. Seems pretty easy to build though.

You hit it right on the head. Only thing I left out was a washer to keep the brake line from sliding through the airshifter mount.

I used bigger nuts that would slide up and down the bolt. Same purpose as the brake line

Also do not overtighten the bolt the shifter needs a bit of free play or it will bind.

alright now whats the best way to mount the bottom, can you buy just the piece that screws to the shifter??

The ram should come with a clevis. You just drill a hole thru the shifter and file it down a little to make it flat. Make sure you dont run out of travel for the ram, it must not bottom out either direction. Usually the hole will be just past half way of the shifter.
