I run full synthetic 20/50 in the summer and have the zx-10 fender mod. Still runs hot when traffic slows or when riding at slow speeds for more than 5-10 minutes.......thats just how it is and its normal....

you just need a second fan and its fixed.I dont think a fender change will do much. You have a lot of ccs with alot of compression,a big hp motor with one little fan.The idea is to make the bike run hot for smog reasons.buy a second fan and call it a day.

the smaller fender opens up much more surface area on the rad.
The small fender will help in slow riding, and will help the bike cool off faster when the fan(s) kicks in,
the fender does not move the air, but allows more air to be moved past the rad

A stock fan with bracket from ebay for dirt cheap. grind the welds flip the brackets, reweld, paint, presto. I made the upper and lower L brackets that hold it to the radiator and epoxied them to the top and bottom, drill and bolt for fan. They share the same center top stock hole, very solid. I ran a trigger wire from other fan for a relay and a new fused power from the battery. I also disabled my 4 way flasher and ran that for 'manual on' anytime for the new right side only..keyless. And somebody couldn't be more wrong IMO, the 10 fender adds much more air at slower speeds period. so much that the fans rarely come on. It's been proven long ago by happy customers eh Dub?

I might try that, i heard the front fender of this bike was designed around extreme aerodynamics so that's why its shaped like a giant beak...i could be wrong though albeit the Busa has a larger uglier one.
