question for smokin?

What is your opinion of the numbers put out by mobile dynos? The reason I am curious is because there arer several set up at bike week which I hope to attend this weekend.would these be worth a pull on to get a baseline or just to beat up the bike? I had hoped to get down in time to let you dyno and calabrate my bike, but looks like its just not in the cards this weekend. Thanks for your help.

I know when 2Fast Motorsports was in business ( western Ohio ) they would call in a local zuki dealer that had a mobile dyno to host a monthly test-n-tune night........got to play with it a few times -- fun!! But, as long as they keep them calibrated, I was told they should be accurate within 1-2% of most static dynos. Don't know if this applies to all mobile dyno mfg's, hell I don't even know what brand they were using -- but it's all the info I've got on the subject.

No 2 dyno's will read exactly the same. Different brands will also read slightly different. So many variables. If you just want a #, do it. If you are looking for a before and after gain on performance mods your doing to the bike then do both runs on the same dyno.

Like Teddy said "No 2 dyno's will read exactly the same" Brand of dyno plays a role in hp numbers also .. Since they ARE selling dyno runs my bet that they would read high ...High reading dynos sells more dyno runs ..

All I am going to do is beat on the bike since there will be no tuning done. Think I will just wait till later and make an appointment with Smokin this summer, that will be a better way to spend money on the bike. Thanks for the info guys.
